My fucking grandma just went insane and I suspect it's partially due to the fact she upped her dosage of opium. Boy...it's a trip. There are people living in her lampshades and stealing her things. It was sad and stuff at first, but after her doctor told us it wasn't dementia and he suspected she just needed to lay off the opium, she refuses to follow his instructions, so we're just about fed up. And my stupid uncle is the one who has power of attorney, so we're waiting for him to get off his lazy ass and find an assisted living home for her. She's now bugging people at her church and getting pissed when they can't see her imaginary "roomies." The worst part is she keeps threatening to call the cops on these invisible people. That's for sure going to end up locking her up for good...geez.
take her opium and fedex it to me on a serious note, that sucks. my grandma does similar things on her meds. see's people who aren't really there. its wierd because there not imaginary, there real people, or people who once were alive. she imagines she's getting fed food at times. hope ya grandma gets better
She's been on hers for about 30 years. She had colon cancer. But it's really hard for her to find a doctor that will keep her on it now. Wonder why? Pfft.
My grandmother has been doing the same thing off and on now for about three months. I spent ten minutes one night picking up imaginary roaches out of the carpet just to please her. She told me it wasn't working and that I needed a shovel.
She won't go to jail when she clearly has a mental condition. She'll get help which is what she needs. Leave the phone lieing around...
No...the cops don't even take her seriously anymore. It's scary, too...like the boy who cried wolf. No one believes her anymore, I'm so scared something will happen and no one will come. That's the saddest part of everything. Granted, if the cops are alerted to her at all, they call my dad or uncle first, but it's a 15 min drive at least to get to her house for either of them, so it could be too late...
