A truely amazing death/speed metal band with thrash influences that I've only recently really got into. Drumming is really fast paced and he uses beat blasting technique, similar to the berzerker's drummer. The riffage is catchy too, but they may take a few listens before you get into them.

I'd advise listening to "To Breathe In A Casket" as it's got me hooked.

I don't like low pitched grunting vocals. Necrophagist are also a bit too technical for my taste. They have really generic song titles too, not that that has much impact on the music, but meh.

    Overrated. Over technical. Overly boring.

Okay, they are talented musicians, but it's empty playing in my eyes.

I don't give a shit how good you are or how many years you've been playing your damn instrument... I need to see some ounce of passion and not just a band just going through the motions, as it takes a lot more to keep my attention.

where the FUCK did that come from coz it's certainly not written anywhere by anyone in here.
over technical and overly boring are two things i wouldn't of expected to find in the same sentence. as for your ounce of passion, have you seen them play live? have you? that's passion.

I wish I could gauge passion...

"This sounds like they've lost passion, you can tell by the chord progression.."

i'd like to know how changing chord progression can relate to a band's passion for music.

I'd like to know how anyone can rate a bands passion without knowing them and being involved in the creative process of creating the record.

I agree how can you tell passion if you didnt see them in the writing process? mean dream theatre bores me and are a little to technical in my opinion but to say theres no passion behind what they do is stupid. Why would they even do it? Passion drives you to mae music. Unless they were forced by some tyrant parents or something...

Well said :sunglasse. With spelling mistakes :)

On Necrophagist, because of the technicality of their music I have to be in a certain mood to listen to them, same with Theory In Practice. Sadly to say that isn't very often. But they are decent.

the only thing i dont like about this band is how people like to pronounce their name "necrofaggots". I suppose thats not the bands fault, but surely they knew what they were getting in to with the whole phagist thing...

Last time I dropped the F-bomb, I got heat.. my appologies.

well surely if they knew, then they obviously don't give a fuck - otherwise surely they'd of chosen something else!

I personally love Necrophagist. In fact I am wearing a Necrophagist Hoody as we speak. ^_^ I saw them the last time they came through the states and they blew me away. As did Arsis. Muhammed is a sick guitarist and deserves more credit than some of you guys have been giving him. Haha

Regardless, the only thing I don't like is the announcement of a second Epitaph tour feat. Cannibal Corpse... =/
