According to blabbermouth ebay are banning the sales of many black/extreme metal music because some christian group has said the whole genre is racist and promotes violence and bigotry. What do you think?

I think the religion is the cause for most wars in this World. Religion destroyed my life as a child when my mother got too into Church, makin us go all the time and it also led to depression for her which she needed councilling over. I think it's wrong that parents Christen babies at a young age when they have no idea who or what religion is. I think there should be some law on Christening.. it should only take place in teenage years and older, when someone is old enough to make firm decisions about their views on religion. I was christened as a baby and I'm not exactly a model of the Lord. Also there are some people that live by the Bible and put their religion before their life, even the lives of other family members. They are living by a man-made scripture that's constantly contradicting itself. It's completely fucked up. All I have to say is fuck ebay's choice, the real fans will know where to find the music - Black/Extreme Metal is in a class of it's own and RELIGION itself causes much violence and bigotry without this genre of music. Deicide may have tracks titled "Bible Basher", "Blame it on God", "Fuck Your God" but it's up to human beings if they want to take it literally.. but maybe Deicide have got it right.
Religion is so fucking FAKE, many Churches are corrupt and personally I can't see how anyone can follow Christ wholeheartedly. But still, burning down innocent people for their beliefs wouldn't solve shit.
Ebay should just be a business and not have a policy of not allowing materials that people find offensive. If an item is legal to sell, a person should be able to sell it there. I find crucifixes offensive - an execution device with a bleeding dead person nailed to it, they should take those off, too. If they take all posible offensive items off, there would be nothing left but a few childrens toys, maybe?
I'm wanting to see them ban all offensive rap from ebay because of the racist and sexist lyrics that promote hate and violence - if they're going to do it to one genre..
I think that banning anything because of the lyrics it is containing is wrong. That is how somebody feels or wants to say, that is fine. If they want to put me down for how I feel, that is fine with me, I will just feel bad for them, and love them. As for whole heartedly following christ I do, and not to change the subject there is no contradictions in christianity, I think most people go by hearsay or it is some religion trying to hold people down. A true christian doesn't hold anybody down, they try to feel compasion for anybody. Most will say, I read the bible, and it is crap, that is usually just a lie to sound like they are educated. I guess it makes people feel better to put down what they do not know.

A lot don't know how to differentiate it. Over time, I've noticed with quite a few listings on Ebay; sellers will label whatever they're selling as NSBM, because they think it'll sell better and faster to the poseur scum. Mislabeling -- superb, correct advertising ploy! On Blabbermouth, there's also a list of a few bands and albums that they're listing because it "violated the eBay Hateful or Discriminatory policy." The one that I found to be the most comical: Satyricon -- 'Now, Diabolical.' (If you don't know why that's so humorous; I'm not going to tell you.) Or what about... Emperor -- 'IX Equilibrium.' Oh yes, Emperor is NSBM... All hail! I mean come on, if you're going to have the balls to ban shit, at least make is Old Satyricon and Emperor. Pansies. Marduk is listed as well, and they aren't even NS, though it could appear that way to dumbfucks that know shit. Too bad the ban couldn't have been placed because of being overtly Anti-Christian, as thats the true essense of BM. It's not about Nazism. Ha, let's see how long this 'ban' lasts... I don't think it'll be too long.
I still revert to what I said earlier, if they are going to take this direction, they're going to need to do it to rap, and other genres after all, the black metallers aren't exactly reaching out to the kids of the world to the same extent as other artists.
Metallideth -- You'll hear no argument from me on the notion that Rap should be banned, as I agree with you. Let's all play the stereotypical association game: Rap -- Thugs, gang-bangers, etc. Black Metal -- Satanists. Thugs, gang-bangers (pseudo ones included for each) are far more detrimental within society than 'Satan' and his legion of 'followers.' There is always a scapegoat. Today its BM-ers... Tomorrow it'll be someone and something else... Welcome to the real world. Everyone adores it.
I really have a hard time believing this. so are they going to stop people from selling their souls on ebay too?? and selling satanic jewelry and things, what about harry potter books?? and witchcraft?
