Mk. I'm new here, just wanted to ask a question among the fellow stoners of the U.S. haha. Anyway, to give a little background information on myself, I started smoking pot last year around christmas time I would guess. I wasn't very active with it at first but as time went on, simply put: I turned into a pothead. During this past summer I smoked every day sometimes more than once a day and sometimes just once. Basically that's all there is to do where I live, and to be honest smoking pot is fucking fun and easy. Alright, now for the question. I'm in a program here in the local university (which happens to be a very accredited school) and it's a full scholarship as long as I attend certain events, stay out of trouble and keep my grades up, and part of the deal is drug tests. Basically they've done it just once every year and it's usually been during the first part of the school year. So far they haven't tested and I don't even know if they will considering this is my senior year and I'm basically already accepted to the university. Well I quit smoking when school started just because I figured they would be testing and like I said they havent so far. I made it 26 days, drinking an assload of water, working out, and sweating my ass off in baseball. So I figured I'm probably clean at this point. Well someone offered a blunt and I just couldn't resist anymore and I gave in this past saturday and got baked. I've done my research and found that smoking once, marijuana will only stay in your system 48-72 hours, and that's without TRYING to rid yourself of it, which I'll do anyway just because I can't fail that piss test if it ever happens. So I just wanted to see if I could get some advice here from a pot forum, if I contain my smoking to maybe a thursday or friday once a week, do you think I'd be clean that following week, just incase of a test? I can live with smoking once or twice a week from now on until I get tested, if it ever happens. I just wanted to see if anyone here had heard claims that are the same as mine, which being it only stays in a few days if done once.
dude one main thing about marijuana, if it fucks with ur life- dont do it. it sounds like this is a pretty important opportunity, and trust me being sober for a few years is better than getting chucked out and getting some lame ass job in mc donalds or something. im not sure about smoking once but i wouldnt reccomend it. but its your choice man- just remember pot will always be here, chances for a better future will not :S
That's what I have always heard, but I wouldn't risk it if I were you. It would be a terrible thing to throw away a FULL SCHOLARSHIP just because you want to get stoned. I would wait it out if I were you. If you happen to fail the piss test, you would regret it for the rest of your life.
This is like the stupid assed football player I know that wants to fuck around with pot when he is going to get a full ride somewhere. Or the chick that wants to smoke bud while she's pregnant just because people on a marijuana forum tell her its ok. I'm not going to tell you to not smoke weed. Do whatever you want. But just know that if you smoke weed you are very likely to fail your test and be fucked.
Well, I can tell you that during school, pot doesnt get in the way of any academics whatsoever. Unlike many of my friends, I get my shit done. I'm very active with school and I like to keep my grades high. Pot is just something to do outside of school just for fun. The only reason I got into it heavy was because it was summer. There was nothing I really had to do. I had a job that I worked 5 days a week, never went high, because that's one of my priorities, and I've never gone to school high either. When it comes to school and work and shit, pot isn't even considered. Plus, I honestly don't even know if they test the piss, we have a lady that runs pride here (if you dont know what that is, it's just a "stay away from drugs" program within schools) well she does the testing for this too. And one of the guys I know, took a pride test wasted and high, and "passed" it. That's why I wonder if they even test. It might just be a deterrent, but i dont honestly know.
I'm not exactly set, but I will say that i'll probably do it occasionally, but nothing like what the summer was. And i'll be extremely safe to say the least. I'll drink myself stupid with water the following days, and piss my brains out until I have none left to piss. Thanks for your advice though, it'll definately keep me from getting back into it all the time.
i gonna say whats been said... dont risk fucking up your scholorship, but since it seems like you intend on smoking no matter what anyone else says then i guess stick with your water and maybe invest in some clean out kits... ive never used em but ive heard that they work pretty well, oh and if you should maybe buy a drugtest to do to yourself and check out if anything DOES show up after a week... just to be sure
I was thinking the same thing about the drug test. Before I really start smoking again, I want to try smoking on a friday, drink water and such, then test myself that monday or something and see what comes up. That would make me much more confident about it to say the least.
maybe you could smoke in the beginning of vacations or something, then you'd have at least a couple of weeks to get clean i wouldn't throw away a scholarship to smoke some weed though, it's not worth it and you might become one of those guys who can honestly say smoking weed ruined his life. kind of a living dare commetcial
be careful about over doing it with water lol something to do with anti diruretic hormones released by your pituitary gland and how it makes your kidneys absorb shit loads of water if you drink way too much and it can fuck you up dont hold me to that, lol, just something i learnt in biology a year ago ^^ good luck with the test, if it comes around, id say get someone elses piss
