Is it common to use a metal screen in a glass spoon? I was just wondering, because last time I smoked in an unfiltered glass pipe, I got ash and shake in my lungs, and it was very uncomfortable.
I only use a screen when I've scraped my pipe and I've got a little resin ball to smoke. Otherwise for normal use, just take is easy when you get down to the last hit or two.
There are glass screens that are made to use with glass pipes/spoons. They are sold at headshops and look almost like little diamonds or crystals. I have one, but I have never used it.
yea.. dont waste your money on glass screens.. their worthless... like grim said.. when you pack you're bowl.. just be careful on them last couple hits.... i've gotten shit on so much.. it really dont phase me anymore
Getting shat on is no fun, but it doesn't really phase me either. I'm not a huge fan of screens. If you can't take getting shat on, I personally think you're pretty weak. Just grab an orange soda and your problem is solved
yea ive breathed in to much ash i really dont even care anymore... its just kinda like, well fuck i guess that bowl was kicked, time for another...
someone was telling me about how they make a little rubber piece that pops into the end of glass bowls that have a screen in them for sucking through.. but i have yet to find them online or in headshops
If I were to use anything as a screen in a glass piece, it would probably be a stem from the bud I'm smoking.
The point of smoking from glass is for a smoother hit and better tasting smoke. Putting a metal screen in there kinda defeats the point. Pack a chunk of nug at the bottom when you load the bowl and be gentle. After a while it will res up enough that you wont need a screen.
well i use a screen, however idk much if i get some ash. but my friends and such highly prefer a screen of some sort.
i never used to use screens except in my metal pipes. Well the other day i was at the local tobacco store and was buying some more screens for my metal pipes. The lady behind the counter said somethin about how their supplier changed brands of screens so these ones were really small and flimsy. Well when i got home they really are alot smaller and alot more flimsy then the old brand. Stuck one in the glass pipe......can't even tell there is a metal screen in there........won't last long......10-15 bowls tops before you get a hole in them but they work really good in a glass bowl. - 42o -
