are who you say you are. I'm probably not who I say I am. That whole notion is really fucked up.

On that note, I think I'm done with internet friends from now on.

I'm honest. I know not everybody is, but I really am.

 

Yeah, I can vouch for some people too and there are people who can vouch for me. There are too many of us who have met... plus there's not that many personalities/pictures to steal on the internet, and most of us are honestly to damn lazy to go through the trouble.

I spent six months pretending to be a girl on the internet, it was pretty fun. It is a fair bit of effort to constantly come up with new pictures though.

 

It's not just that, but people have alias after alias after alias which is disturbing in itself. You hear all kinds of crazy shit on the news about internet weirdos and such.

I just don't like uncertainty at all, and until tonight I was pretty certain I could believe people on here were who they said they were. Some folks I've known for years. Talked to 'em on the phone and such and still believe they are who they are. Fitzy for instance..... if he was going to steal a picture to show as himself, he certainly would've stolen a better looking one(Fitz I hope you see this so I don't feel bad for the cheap shot). Now I realized whether smuterina and mud are one in the same or if the story was true, it doesn't matter because you can't count on people to be who they say they are. Physicalities or personalities, it doesn't matter. Short of living around the corner from somebody you'll never know. I don't like that.

Eh, some girl stole some other girl's pic and posted it as her own and now the girl who got her pic stolen is mad and calling the thief on her shit. Apparently, the thief is begging the girl not to rat her out and offered her some money not to tell everyone here it isn't really her pic.

Don't make this all depressing. I prefer to believe it doesn't really matter, god that's such a lie. If you're friends with someone, put effort into communicating with them and then find out they are lying, yeah it really sucks.

 

i get ya....theres only a few people here who i trust to know that they are who they say they are. i've talked to 1 on the phone. but i tend to beleive people anyway. you can't go around doubting all the time...i mean, even in real life, someone could be faking there life. i give people the benefit of doubt.

and the photo...come on, look in my gallery at the drunk photo....thats one fucked up photo

 

Nont only is it kind of depressing, it's somewhat degrading too. You tell people shit and you don't know who you're telling these personal details too. You think you do, but you really have no idea. It's like God. There's a lot of faith involved and it may, or may not, turn out the way you expect.

oh and btw i am me...only thing diff about me in real time, is that I am a little more apt to go off when people piss me off.

 

You can get a better sense of a person in....in person. Here you get no body language. You can't see reactions. You get no voice inflection. You can't hear pauses in their speach when they're trying to cover their ass, etc.

Person to person I'm pretty good at reading people. Online, I've got nothing to work with. It's so impersonal and impossible to gauge people, yet we routinely treat people as if we know them based on the words they have all the time in the world to fabricate.

just saying that i've had a few people straight up make up a whole new life, got so deep into it that it fooled lots of people at first

i know i've discussed some things pertaining to my problems and such, but i left A LOT of details out, just because of reasons like this. only 2 people here know the background, and 1 of those 2 knows everything.

but i tend to be a really trusting person in real life, so it does carry over in here too.

And fitzy, I'm pretty trusting in real life as well, but mostly because I can smell a rat from a mile. As you said, it carries over. Not just being trusting but feeling like I can sniff out the phonies. Truth is though, there aren't many giveaways on the 'net.
