Does anyone remember the old Banana Splits Show? LA LA LA LALALALA! Jan Michael Vincent got his start there at age 18, as a jungle boy.
I used to dig watching: 'The Banana Splits Show'.The 'Tra.la,la song' was one of the best t.v. theme tunes ever!. If anyone would like to see some photos & a thread on this show please click on: http://www.madmumblings.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1724
I've never seen the people underneath the costumes. Wonder if they're all still alive. Wouldn't it be great if we took off the costumes and found Nixon, Erlichman, Haldeman, and Kissinger? .
... or even Hoffa. I was raised with this programme. When I was 6 it was the best thing on TV. I used to watch that, Little House on the Prairie(ha ha), Mystery Island, a French serial called Mikhail Strugoff(or something like that), Combat and the daily stock market report. But Banana Splits was, by far, my favourite. Does anyone remember the cartoons they showed? I remember the one called Arabian Nights or something, and it had this really funny donkey in it. Man, I'm having flashbacks!!!
I believe I have seen this show. Did this show have the purple grape gang which was a group of little girls dancing in grape costumes which terrified the banana splits.
Not sure. I remember a little girl that would dance toward them and knock them over with a hip shake. If a group of grapes scared me, I wouldn't scream. I would just let out a little whine. (grapes, wine, heh heh.) .
Here's is that Banana Splits,'Sour Grapes'show; please click on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KL5c7vLuzJw
