Hi, could you tell me how many people here are interested in meditation and the idea of using it in conjunction with weed to reach transcendental states? I don't want to turn this into an advert, but I've got a book coming out soon about it and I'm trying to assess potential reactions to it. It's something that obviously fascinates me, but how about the rest of you? Is meditation something you'd ever try? MelT
omg - try a self hypnosis tape while stoned to death in your bed in the pitch black. your mind becomes clear, and you feel like your floating.
Sometimes I smoke a bowl before meditation and it does help a lot. It really brings you up to the next level. I also found, for me, it enhanced the high (of course, this feeling went away as soon as I stopped). So yeah, meditation is something I'm quite interested in. It's a good relaxation tool for me.
I mediate a lot after smoking weed. Weed really helps you ignore all the crap that usually goes on in your head.. and allows you to focus on whats "real".. Once you clear your mind of the day to day illusions, you are simply left with - the truth. peace soc
see, whenever i do transcendental meditation sober i don't really care to get stoned or not, i've sort of a achieved a new, clearer mind often times. i've never tried it sober, and i'm not particularly good at it in the first place, but perhaps someday
i used to meditate very regularly, a few times a day at least... now instead of setting aside time for meditation i try to do it while i'm in class, or walking, or while talking to someone... just concentrating on breath, in out in out. or if im ever getting stressed or feeling discord or imbalance in myself, i do that. it helps so much, so much. ive always found that weed doesnt help me meditate, my mind just doesnt stay put. which is fine too, in its own way. but if i meditated when high, my 'meditation' would be a lot closer to just 'random thoughts', ya dig?
i dont know how to meditate in the formal way, but i would say i meditate a lot. sitting, clearing your mind, realizing the reality of things and seeing how much different things are when you look beyond the facade of everything. deep deep thought, weed helps me with that A LOT, ive had about 2000 epiphanies under the influence
I think that we can learn different things from different states of mind, and cannabis opens doors to me which otherwise would never have been opened- this is not to say that it creates the "truths" you come to while high, but it sheds a different light on things. I love meditating out in the woods or somewhere out in solitude.
i just meditated while under the influence of about .5 grams of potent marijuana, and i totally cleared my mind, i felt so... solved, is the world, like everything will be fine, i listened to some relaxation music, and it was great, the total time i mediated was about 15 minutes, with eyes closed and fan blowing slowly on my face, it was a great experience, i recommend you do it if you like to keep an optimistic view on life.
!!!!! I had no idea there would be so many of you who have already tried it stoned. I hope you don't mind if I post a link to my book, from what you're saying it might be of interest to some of you. I'm happy to answer any questions I can about meditation BTW, just let me know. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Headstuff-Being-Stoned-Meditation-Exploration/dp/095538530X/ref=sr_11_1/026-5292340-0047642?ie=UTF8 Best MelT
Meditation in general helps me clear my mind. I can get into deeper meditation faster when I'm stoned compared to when I'm sober.
I think - no, I know, you're right. I'm still surprised that with the amount of dope users that nobody's written a book about what you can do with it and meditation before. There is still a stigma attached to it though. A lot of meditators think that it's wrong to use cannabis at all, let alone to help you meditate. But as long as you know how to control it, and know how to meditate without it too, it becomes a useful tool. MelT
When studying NLP I was hypontised and taught self hypnosis, never tried it after a spliff, must give it a try. Maybee you could even anchor that stoned feeling. (Anchoring is an NLP tecnique to control your state of mind.) Check out an NLP (neuro linguistic programming) site its good stuff. Learn how to attract women and influence situations by simply mirroring peoples behaviour.
You Americans. Always wanted to go to a big rave in the desert though. Mmmm don't know why I said that.
i use weed and meditation in conjunction together. weed makes me take deeper breathes, and focus on the inner energy of my body. i feel and hear and see the stillness. i like to meditate without it too, when i am high and meditate there is this intensity to it that is very cool.
