okay so i've been into fear factory for many years now, going back to their first album "concrete". i reckon they got better and then changed to become more commercial and now i don't think too much of them (judging by the albums "transgression" and "archetype"). everything before that i listened to ritually for years. it's just their blend of heaviness, the inclusion of electronic sounds (which in some songs are taken from everyday things such as industrial noise, etc), the way burton vocalises (he packs a roar but can also sing well) and raymond herrera might as well be the human drum machine.

anyone else a fan (or used to be)? if so, i'm interested what you think of their new stuff compared to their older stuff, and what songs you like? personally, "pisschrist" and "self bias resistor" are my favourites.

I used to love Demanufacture and obsolete all the rest I'm not too bothered about. But I'm pretty bored of them now.

Same here. I remember when Demanufacture came out and a lot of my friends were wild about it. I found it just ok.

Another thing I like about this band is 2 albums of experimental mixes on their own songs. Brilliant to get high to, and interesting in terms of showing their ability to manipulate their own sound.

I've never liked much of anything from them, a few songs from Obsolete were alright.
