start over or pick up where we left off

    that's the question my girlfriend, that i got back together with, asked me. i don't see the point in starting over, but i don't want to be an ass by just saying that as if i'm only in it for that. i just don't know, what should i tell her?

    You know things about each other that you didn't when you first started going out. You can't forget those things, so "starting over" is out. You've also gone past where you left off.
    Your relationship will grow (in whatever direction) from today rather than from some point that you've already passed.

    How do you start over? If it didn't work before, then it's probably not going to work the second time, unless she's changed.

    The way i see it you cant start over...you cant forget everything that has happened before because whether you like it or not it still happened and takes part in how you view each other.
