Right now I am a freshman living on campus at a university about two hours from home. It's okay, but I'm REALLY not into partys at all so living on campus sometimes is a bit different for me. What I've been thinking very hard about doing lately is transferring back home at semester and living at home and going to the university there which is about 5 minuntes away from home. I'm a little confused for osme reason, just if I should stay for a whole year, or if it would be okay to transfer at semester. What are everyones thoughts about this? I just don't know if living on campus is for me, and it's sad that it took me having to come out here to figure that out, but I always have the option of going home. It's just a matter of semester, or year.

My suggestion would be to contact the school near home... At some places, you have a much better chance of getting financial aid in the form of scholarships and grants (stuff that doesn't have to be paid back, as opposed to loans) if you enter in the fall semester. But, at other places, whether you enter in fall or in winter/spring semester won't affect your chances. For me, that would be the deciding factor.

Another option would be to look into getting a place off campus. You'd have to be pretty picky about your roommates if you want to avoid being at the off-campus party central, but it may be possible, depending on your town, your school policies (some require freshmen to live on campus for their full first year), and your luck.

well as for getting an apartment, if i transferred at semester, or even sophmore year, i would just live at home, which wouldn't be a problem, since the school is only like 10 minutes from my house

Oh, I meant as an option for this coming semester, if you stay at the school you're at, you could look into getting an off-campus place, which might allow you to get away from the partying a bit while you finish out this first year.
