Which is weird, because I don't have an accent at all. I mean, Canadian accent or whatever. Born 'n raised. And yet a woman said she liked my British accent. I didn't even realize I had an accent. Weird.
Well I know. But it'd make sense if I had a british accent and actually spent time in England. But I grew up in the boring 'burbs of Canada, so anything more ethnic than Canadian suburbanite just isn't me....
People are dumb. I've been told I have a Brooklyn accent, a southern accent, a NY accent, and other accents from places I've never lived. People obviously can't hear right.
I'm sure, to some extent, that I have a bit of a southern accent. Thing is, I've heard people with really thick southern accents and it sounds funny to me. Like Jaimie Pressley (sp?) on My Name Is Earl, now that accent is soooo thick, it's hilarious.
when i'm really tired or drunk, i sound like i'm from oklahoma, or so i've been repeatedly told. i've never even driven through oklahoma.
I've lived in Texas most of my life, and people think I sound foriegn. I think it's because I throw in lots of big words into my daily language to hide the fact that I was dropped a lot as a kid.
