alright so i go to an anonymous historically black school in alabama, dont ask why. but im originally from california so to bring a little CA to the AL i brought my hookah Akbar. many others asked me if it was legal and i assured them it was fine. i kept it on my bookshelf in plain view. when i was away from my room the RA went into my my room and later on confronted me about it. she asked me what it was and how i use it. she compared it to a crack pipe and claimed that tobbaco products werent allowed in the dorm even though she smokes so she took my hookah my coals my shisha and my cigarettes and gave me a 100$ fine. this shit never would have happened in California. So when deciding on a college realize that the south is full of ignorant fucks. and as far as alabama goes their marijuana laws are a lot harsher than cali's. i need to get good grades and transfer to Berkeley. DAMN.
God damn, that's a real bitch. See if you can get an older sibling or parent to claim them for you, and tell them to assure whoever has them that the items in question will stay well away from school property.
Can you go to residence life and talk to them about it? I mean.. hell, my school has a hookah club and random nights has hookahs set out in various quads. It's not illegal, but some schools get iffy. Still, I would definitely go check it out with someone of a higher authority.
good news i went over my RA's head to resident life and got my fine taken off and i'm getting akbar back but i have to send it off campus. I dont like being seperated from akbar but my sister lives about 2 hours away so i'll just send him there. But at least my fine is gone, Always question authorities kids, ALWAYS.
don't blame it on the south... please. that's ignorance. but that does suck about your hookah. i'm sure you can complain somewhere.
I'm going to a good school and i had to get away from the rents, so i ended up in Alabama. It's not too bad but i get funny looks alot cause i skateboard and talk differently than most of the other students. I'm getting used to it though.
It's odd, but I think a lot of black colleges try to get Californians there. I'm from Oakland and went to school in Alabama for a year. Damn it sucker. Also my cuz went to Tuskegee, and my other cousin is at University Of Alabama. It was real strict and racist at times so that’s why I now go to school in Wisconsin. You should look at UW-Stevens Point. We'd love to hit the Hookah with you here. How big is your Hookah?? I'm actually looking to buy one, but prices out here can be almost double of what I'd be paying back in California.
It's a nasty situation, but I would encourage anyone to check out all of a school's rules before applying there.
I ordered mine of off the internet, it was about 20 inches and it came with coals and a variety for shisha and it was only 50 bucks and that includes shipping. It was a pretty goos deal.
