I'm going to see them Thursday in St Louis. I can't wait. Anyone else gonna be there? They're playing Neil Young's "Living With War" and a lot of their old stuff, too. I was checking out their setlists for the tour and it looks really great. UMB Bank Pavilion is a pretty laid back atmosphere, it's an amphitheater and it's nice laying down on the grass watching the show.
Sweet man, I went to a CSNY show earlier this summer. They were REALLY good! It was a great show. I had lawn seats and there were so many people blazing out there. Made me really happy. I got lucky too cause I thought we wouldn't have any ganja, but the person we met there had some joints . I think I remember one of CSNY (I think it was Neil Young) saying at one point during the show "Light em up!". Hehe. Anyway, get ready for a fun night .
Yeah, I caught the Black Crowes, Drive-By Truckers and Robert Randolph and the Family Band at the same venue last June. It was a great show, although I think we were the only ones with any bud. Everyone kept asking us for acid, though.
niiice, i have friends who saw them. and I wanted to see RR & the family band but i never got tickets.... oh well
We mainly went to see Drive-By Truckers, but traffic made us miss all but three songs. RR&FB did the best version of Voodoo Chile I've ever heard.
Miriam & I caught CSNY at the Garden State Art Ctr in August. We had lawn, so it was cool 2 blaze. lots of great old tunes and the lets impeach the president song by Neil. God Stills & Crosby must have custom guitar straps they are huge. the place was packed with old white rich hippies, I felt at home
So the concert was amazing. They didn't even search at the gate, except for blankets, and my hippy jacket mexican poncho thing. When he checked my jacket, a cop behind him stepped over and stood where I would have to walk right next to him, which I gladly did. I walked up to the lawn to find a spot to sit, and I heard my name being called. There were about ten friends from high school at a blanket, so I wasn't by myself. There was lots of great bud going around, this guy next to me gave me a roach to finish. During the second set and my second joint, I found him again and repaid the favor. So many good songs. All of Neil Young's "Living With War," they had the American flag background, then Canadian, British, and the Mexican flag. Then they had a peace sign, and after a little while, it rotated to the left, I'm not sure what that meant. Footage of soldiers in Iraq. Yellow ribbon background too. Hendrix' National Anthem played, and they brought out a giant microphone and tied a yellow ribbon to it. Dedicated "Families" to those with relatives overseas and to vets. It was very anti-war, but pro-soldier. They also played tons of old stuff. Almost Cut My Hair, Our House, Wooden Ships, Wounded World, Military Madness, Guinnevere, Chicago, Teach The Children, Find The Cost Of Freedom, Ohio, For What It's Worth, Rocking In The Free World. Amazing. I had to skip a marching band practice to go to this show, and one director is throwing a shitfit, and he doesn't want me to march tomorrow. Which could make me fail the class, rather than just drop one letter grade for an unexcused absence. But I emailed him, filled out the paperwork, did what I should. I heard another director is standing up for me. No regrets, though. Long read, but I'm stoned.
i saw them earlier this summer in Toronto, the first half was alot of protest songs but they were still great... awsome concert
i saw crosby stills and nash in kelowna a couple of years back, pretty good show. lots of old hippies there, very cool, and now-soccer-moms that used to be hippies. they played a joni mitchell song too, A Case of You, which was cool.
ya i went to the st. louis show. but my firend was being paranoid an wuldnt let me smoke ne of his jays. the concert was hella tight though.
That's funny.....there was so much bud there. Only time I saw security was before the concert or near the concessions.
i went to that concert when they stopped here in columbus. it was august 27th or something. that concert was sooo kick ass. we had a blaze circle going on, with lots of old hippies. ahhaha it was fuckin sweet man
