just would like to know what this tieing down is all about and how i would go about doing it?you see i have this plant which is hellish tall and is almost touching the light, would tieing down solve this problem
Yes it would solve the problem for the time being before it grows back up to the lights again. The idea, also called training is to tie the plant down from, for example, half way up the plant to the pot so that it won't elongate directly upwards as it would in the nature, rather it would be twisted and as a result making it vertically shorter. Be careful not to snap the plant in half when tieing it down. It will survive a sort of snap in the "backbone", but consequently create unwanted stress to the plant. There are many methods to tie it down, so chose as you prefer.
