Hey everyone, I really want to become a vegan does anyone have any websites or advice they can give to us begginer vegans? I would totally apprciate it !! Peace <3 Katy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ANx4StPKG0 //So what AM I allowed to eat? I really want to stick with it but it will be extremely hard as my bf is a cook, meat eatter, and we hardly have time to cook for ourselves leaving unheathly food as a dependant... does all pasta have egg, am i even allowed bread? Please help me with some yummy quick and cheap things to eat.
If you weren't so busy, I'd suggest makin your own bread. It's cheap and not very difficult.. or you could just make quick batter breads... A lot of storebought bread have milk ingredients or traces, same goes for egg. Most pasta has egg in it or traces too. just get ready to do some heavy ingredient list reading. as far as not having time, when you do have some, make up some healthy snacks ahead of time and stick em in the fridge individually packaged, then you wont be opting for cookies and the likes so much. www.vegweb.com you've probably seen that site before, but it's all vegan and it's got great recipes on it. hope that helps.
Right on!! that same video made me become vegan it was hard at first but iam getting used to it ....... it depends on the bread you have to check the ingrediants ... same with pasta alot of bread has honey do you eat honey? anyways good luck and you can get really good recipes from moosewood cookbooks i would suggest taking an iron supplement though it will give you more energy......... i hhope it works out if you have any other questions just let me know........ good luck!!
hey i became a vegan not to long ago iam not sure about websites but there are some books i would suggest one would be how it all vegan another one is a moosewood cookbook ... anyways good luck !!
Be careful taking iron supplements. Too much iron can be toxic. If you do take it use low doses. B12 is much more of a concern for vegans.

well, I'm lacto slowly easing my way over to vegan. the lifestyle is in place except for some minor dairy. (no first hand leather, silk, wool or animal derived ingredients in vanity products etc) I started at age 12. I'm close to 40 now... eeek! current useful books are: Uncheese Cookbook and Vegan Vittles, (Stepaniak) book I could not have made it so far without: Tassajara Cookbook- good, basic veggie prep. it covers good knives and ways of cutting and very stripped down vegetables as vegatables dishes. Sundays at Moosewood i also would not have made it to a 20 year old veggie had it not been for the Hare Krishnas. THeir food made the weeks of making do in an omni and unfriendly environment worth it. The exception is the Denver temple. prasadam taken out and about is wonderful. Govinda's buffet has been horrid on three tries! Dallas' Kalichadji's is AWESOME, though. Now, I eat at a veriety of ethnic resuarants from Eithiopia, to India to Thai and Vietnamese. Aside from fish sauce at the Asian shops, this is brainlessly vegetarian/vegan. Thai restaurants in Cali often ask if egg is OK or not.
