you need a tribe cALLed quest, Company Flow, souls of mischief,

but i ABSOLUTELY HATE that new discrace to hiphop, that materialistic, one lined, non rhyming repedative phrase bullshit that people listen to these days. the fucking "rapper" isnt even what he sais he is. "everyday im hustlin, everyday im hustlin", please motherfucker, you have never even touched a drug. and how much thought did it serouisly take to come up with that gay ass phrase. like my sig sais, hip-hop is dead, the media bought it out.

oh yeah, you think tupac is underrated? people still know his name. the only hip hop group worthy of being dubbed "underrated" is Company Flow. you could put any company flow member up to tupac and they would peel the black right off tupacs skin with their freestyle rhymes. you havent even heard good hiphop untill you heard Company Flow, you MUST download it!

two years ago i probably would have gone as far to say that all rap sucks seeing as though the only rap i was exposed to was the shit they play on the radio and mtv. then last summer my friend passed me the bowl and put 7's travels by atmosphere into the my cars cd player and that shit blew my mind(atmosphere, not the weed [IMG]). it wasn't like any of the rap i've heard before the beats, the rhymes, the lyrics, all seemed to have creative energy and actual thought put into them. yah there's tons of good shit out there atmosphere, immortal technique, sage frances, danger doom, p.o.s. being my favorites, check em out!

I think it's peculiar that a narrow genre like rap which basically started out as a gimmick has gone on now for about 25 years. It had some popularity in the late 70s but took off during the Michael Jackson craze around 1984. Kids today are listening to the same music their parents did, which I find bizarre. If it keeps up like this, grandparents, their kids, and their grandkids will all be listening to the same boom boom and zipper sound that will be eminating from the retirement homes not too long from now.

I can't imagine a narrow gimmick such as doo-wop music going on from the 50s to the 80s. People got over it and moved on to new things.

It does not surprise me that you are 13, if you feel the cypress is pop shit.

Cypress Hill are disgustingly under-rated, these guys have been going strong since the early 90's covering everything from funky rap to rap/metal and out to reggae, Insane in the brain doesn't begin to describe what Cypress has to offer. Try; How I Could Just Kill A Man, Highlife, Busted In The Hood and Rap Superstar for a good mix of what they do.

Three Six Mafia is also terribly under-rated, their stuff with ICP (cough, cough) and twiztid is good shit.

Cypress Hill is Gansta, It ain't pop shit. Whoever thinks otherwise can go eat a fat dick!
I know an other rapper who is under-rated. Some of you yanks & pomees might not have heard of him. Scribe, he's from New Zealand, He is pretty shit hot. His best song is 'Not Many'.

Hmmm... I guess Gansta Rap is dead, now. It was good while it lasted, At least some good music was made form it.

No Immortal Technique or Eminem? Can't see them listed. They're too of the best lyricists in hip hop in my opinion. Emiems singles don't do him jutice to say the least, and I understand a lot of people don't like him, but I think he's brilliant!
