What about the National parks? Failing that why not volunteer for Greening Australia?

If you aren't interested in money there are heaps of jobs in "bush regeneration" - weeding.

    try http://www.volunteersearch.gov.au/

You should find something. Just click on your state. I know there are a few concervation jobs advertised for NSW if that's where you live. If not, you should be able to find something in your state.

EDIT: woops, maybe I should have made it clear. When I said "If you aren't interested in money" I meant, don't care about it at all.

Well, in that case you could try the Department of Environment and Heritage.

  8. Spiral, its pretty bloody hard, seeing as hundreds of people undertake biodiversity and conservation degrees around the country and still many find it hard to get jobs. My housemate is doing really well, but he did honours.

I wouldn't even bother with the department of environment and heritage, probably all the job descriptions contain one all important word, "degree"

On the other hand, for those under 21 there is the 6 month "green corps" course, where you earn youth allowance wages in return for working on environmental projects and studying a TAFE like course, often in very beautiful places like the flinders ranges and probably kakadu??? If you're too old, in SA we have the Youth Conservation Corps, which is a similar course, but only goes for three months and is based mostly around town. These courses will certainly get you council environmental jobs, and you do a work placement, so who knows??

I did part of the latter, and enjoyed some of it, but a lot of the people were down and outs or who couldn't find jobs which was depressing. I think the green corps is the same, but working out in the bush would make up for it.

Forgive everyone for suggesting volunteering, but sadly its your only choice buddy, and a good precursor to get a real job.
