*cries* steve irwin has died! he was my idol, one of the greatest men on Earth...and now hes gone... http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200609/s1732439.htm *cries and cries and cries* he was my idol! i learned to respect animals, not to fear them. i like the way he loves animals, just because he loves them. i always wanted to meet him, even once. i want to do what he does, and would enjoy every minute of it! hes one of the greatest men to have lived, i think, and think he should have some kind of monument in his likeness. the Earth has lost one of her true children... he will live on in our hearts, if we remember all that he was. respect all animals indescriminately, love all others just as much. be a kid, love life as much if not more than he did. he did what he did not cause of popularity or celebrity crap, he was the genuine article. the world weeps at his departure, but im sure he had no regrets. i always wanted to be like him, he was so happy and care free. he respected all animals and took joy in just watching them. he knew that all life is precious and deserves to share the Earth in life. i always wanted to meet him... i just hope he enjoyed himself up to the end. *breaks down and cries* We love you Steve Irwin! Peace and Love, rest well.
yes, we will all miss watching his shows. I wonder if his wife will still continue what they did together for all the animals?
I just saw this on CNN and my heart almost stopped. I thought, 'you've got to be shitting me... NOTHING can kill Steve Irwin!' His poor wife and babies... This is so sad...
Thats so sad!!! Steve Erwin! I grew up watching the crazy Australian! I had never imagined that he could be killed! His poor familly!
Steve Irwin was by far one of the most amazing people to ever inhabit this planet and his tragic death has affected me more than any death I've ever known. It pains me greatly that someone with so much great energy and so full of life is no longer able to share this journey with us. What he did with his life and work had such an amazing impact in such a positive way, what a hero. May he rest in peace eternally and his presence remain within us and upon us and his spirit live on forever. I am forever thankful for the impact he made during his time here, and he certainly shall never be forgotten. Thanks a million Steve, may your children and widow carry the torch for you with honor. White light and warm energies to the entire Irwin family, may peace be with you and help guide you on your way through this time that we all have to find a way to get through without you.
AHAHAHAHA. it's a mixed bag. he DID make a point of telling everyone that all those animals were dangerous, he just couldn't stop himself. he did mess with and tease some of those animals a bit too much, one finally got him. still, i have more knowledge and greater respect for those animals and their environment due to the education we received from that psycho son of a bitch.
yep. now they get to be media darlings for the rest of their lives. we've seen what it's done to all the other media darlings. we're a vicious fan base. everyone waiting to see if they'll be just as crazy, titillated by AND disappointed in them every day. with no loving dad to walk them through it. but then, it's pretty much just like military dads, isn't it?
though i think it'd be safe to hazard a guess that right at the end, he was probably pretty pissed off. i hate that saying, "died doing what he loved." seriously, as he's fading, he's probably thinking to himself, 'what good does this do my family?' OWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW, THIS SUCKS!
his life was not a waste, he gave his whole life to teach us about animals and save the wildlife. im sure he knew the dangers, and it did not bother him. his family knew the dangers as well. he loved his family muchly im sure, and i dont think he would have done the baby 'dangling' thing if he knew anybody would get hurt.
what we're saying is that his children should have come first, he could still teach us all there is to know about animals without chasing the rush. now his children are fatherless.
CHRIST, why do people have to pick on the dead?? What is this thing going around where someone hears of a great person who's died and they have to criticize their every move in life? Is this the "cool" thing to do, now? I don't friggen get it! LEAVE THE DEAD ALONE! Honor him for what he did right. If you wanted to bitch, you should have done it while he was alive. PS: Steve was a great man. Loved him dearly. Trying not to be biased, though. I just made the same argument about Mother Theresa a few weeks ago, and I couldn't care less about her.
It should have been the LAW from the start, but human arrogance got in the way of common sense. Steve was confident, not cocky. He loved the animals he was saving and didn't believe in doing it from a distance. It's not like he popped up from under that stingray, got in its face and went "WOOGIEWOOGIEWOOGIE!" Shit happens. It was a freak thing.
a think a freak thing would be more along the line of a stingray being dropped on my head as i'm walking down the street, stinging me in the heart, and me dying. having one sting you while you're following it around filming it? not so freaky. sad, though. don't get me wrong, i loved the guy, but after he had kids? i dunno, i guess i wanted him to be more careful and responsible. now he's dead and gone. he's going to have EXACTLY the sort of remembrance he deserves, which is the sort of publicity he courted in life, which didn't bother him one little bit. there's still gonna be a whole lotta "WTF?! WHAT A CRAZY FUCKING DUMBASS!" it's how he made his point. can't very well go getting all sensitive about it now. it's not like i'm picketting his funeral or anything.
So then I guess professional race car drivers, police, firefighters, army reservists, stunt people, demolition experts, fishing boat captains, and everyone else in a "risky" profession should quit their jobs as soon as they have kids? I don't think he was a crazy fucking dumbass. He had a calling as a conservationist, and an enthusiasm & sense of showmanship that grabbed a lot of attention & directed it toward the cause that was the focus of his life. Besides, don't you think Terri had some input about their kids and his (and her) risky job? She apparently didn't have a problem with him taking their baby into the crocodile pen. Either she's wack too, or she trusted his control of the situation. It's tragic that his kids have lost their father, but it doesn't mean that their lives are destroyed. His life will still be an example for them
yes. they should quit. ESPECIALLY race car drivers. at least until your kids graduate. cold comfort have a fine, dead "example" when he's not there to cheer for you at graduation or give you away at your wedding, or whatever rituals they have. conservationist and wildlife expert doesn't require whacky stunts to gain the attention of short attention span people. that's shock and awe. and what's true for the usa is true for everyone: live by shock and awe, die by shock and awe.
