You mean how much is the government allowing big oil to gouge? Cheapest is a touch below $2.90 a gallon in Connecticut.
They want $2.51 to feel good. It certainly feels good to big oil which is raking in record profits. As long as people thing anything below $3 is a bargain there's nothing to drive prices to reasonable levels. Being a driver, you might appreciate not having to sink so much of your hard earned money into fuel. Commodity pricing of something so fundamental to the world's economy is enabling greed- and helping to siphon working class earnings into the coffers of the already-too-wealthy.
Diesel fuel is atleast .50 higher than unleaded fuel. Does not make sense becuase Diesel takes less to process it, is a standard demand rate not influenced by fickle drivers but does allow the goverment to collect higher revenue through taxes of end use merchandise becuase we pass the fuel costs onto the shippers and recievers thus end good costs are higher and more tax can be collected, all this without most tax payer bitching becuase they dont think they are being hit with added costs becuase they burn unleaded fuel.
$2.59 all over town. I nearly pissed myself when I looked out the window at work at the gas station next door and saw they were lowering the price.
Cha ching! Holly shit that would kill me! I would be totally more intersted in building on an idea I had instead of just letting the idea be in my mind. OUCH!
That's worse than gouging- it's larceny! Fortunately the United Corporations of America (Robbing Hood) and its coalition of merry men are fighting in Iraq to protect Big Oil's resource.... ahhh I mean to rid them of weapons of mass destruction or somesuch "noble" cause. With any luck the oil giants will have free reign to price fix and gouge for many decades to come.
