So this is my newest painting. Sorry for the bad quality of the pic. I did a large percent of this with a sponge, not that you can tell becuase of the bad pic. Anywho, I'm not sure if I want to add more to it or not, but here's what I have so far.
Yeah it is abstract, and it just is what it is. Take whatever you want from it. Let it mean whatever it means to you.
Usually it is the artist that tries to represent something on the canvas, not the "spectator" to find a meaning. I'm sure you did this with some feeling on your mind, just tell us about it.
Ive always wondered about abstract myself being an artist, did a little myself and had fun with it, maybe it is just the idea of doing something fun and it's not suppose to mean anything more to the artist........
I think with alot of abstract pieces it's alot more about letting the subconcious out, than conciously capturing a thought/feeling I liek this piece alot
It does have an unfinished feel to it, associated with the radiating, crisp lines. I often have a bugger of a time hetting sponge and stroke to speak together you said sponge technique. Is it also on cardboard?
hmm, it looks like it is on cardboard. If you had painted it on canvas i think it would look much better... i do like the idea, and i can understand that canvas is expensive, but all the same...
Thanks or the replys Yes, it is on Cardboard. Ontop of paint, canvas is expensive and I can get cardboard for free! So, I've opted with the latter for the time being.
You can also paint on glass and glass is free at the junkyard. Kinda neat the way light shines thru too!
very creative, using cardboard if you dont have the bread i used to draw on the back of old school worksheets when i was broke lol
I like it. It's quite pleasing to look at. I'm enjoying the colours with the sudden white. Oh and I quite like that it's on cardboard With the wrinkles near the corner
