Ah alright i'll get it started... I went to Kuwait.. smoked a lot of hookah.. stayed with my folks.. then went to Mississauga.. ate a lot of potato chips and watched a lot of movies.. then went to Edmonton to stay with my brother.. drank a lot of beer and watched the World Cup.. and a bit of the Stanley Cup.. then returned home to Ottawa for my summer class.. but didn't go to class even once.. still got a B+ in the course though.. had my first acid trip, it lasted forever and was the single most intense experience I've ever had in my entire life... got drunk a few times, getting drunk again tonight and again in a week for my birthday.. then I'll be moving into my new place and buying myself a Fender jazz bass.. and I'll take some bong hits to celebrate and I'll take it from there...

Not much of an essay but a decent summary of my summer. Summer Summary if you will.. :p

Sadly, alot of my summer was spent working. A friend was turned down at the boarder when he came to visit. And I experienced a new trip. Horrible essay writting skills, no?

In all honesty the summer seemed to pass by quicker then i would of wished, which is sad as it started earlier then normal for me. As I left school slightly early.

The big bonus, hanging out, lots. Enjoying myself. Walks at 3 am, going to the park, barefoot, playing in the fountain, and enjoying a rose garden. I really cannot complain.

i don't care that it's september, summer is not over!

but here is my summer-y to date:

met a crazy gypsy in the bar i was working at who drives a decked out school bus and is part of a nomadic tribe named highway child. the tribe set to tour that states, the trip to be entirely funded through the making and selling of hemp jewellery

decided it sounded like fun. quit my job. liquidated my possesions. held a fundraiser to build travel funds (bowling!). got on the bus.

started touring the u.s of a.

spent a week in austin, tx. could've been a lifetime. i love it there. (pixie - i miss you!)

went to my first gathering - the nationals in colorado. a life changing experience. i finally understand what it's like to be home. we picked up a film crew there - breedlove and elliot - making a documentary on nomadic living. you learn to forget there are cameras on you, but now that it's over, i'm nervous and anxious to see what i and we are like on film.

we spent a few days in grand junction @ the confluence collective (thank you guys and gals for having us). check out their zine "the red pill", very interesting and informative; and if you are in gj, go to their weekly vegan dinner (sundays) - one of the best damn meals i've ever had!

from there it was flagstaff, az, where i spent a week and a half. if you are ever travelling, make sure to stop here - it is a beautiful, very hippy friendly place, tons of places to eat for free, everybody buys you beer - just don't stay too long, it starts to get weird (and not necessarily the good kind). dusty, john, jason, turtle & woad - i love you guys from the depths of my heart!

this is where i decided to get off the bus and follow a path of my own. i came to lynchburg, va to visit my mother whom i hadn't seen for 3 years. the town is pretty, but i find alot of the people to be fake. i hitched a ride with keith (a trucker i met down by the river) to florida for a week where i saw alligators, dolphins and pelicans in their natural habitats for the first time in my life...very cool.

i had meant to stay, but alas, i had met a boy in lynchburg (isn't that always the way?) who i fell in love with before i even met. he said he wanted to start travelling so i said i would come back to travel with him. i've never come back to a town for somebody before (especially one that i don't particularly enjoy being in), but this feels right.

this brings us up to date. right now, we're waiting for his car to sell so he can buy a van. i'm helping my mum renovate her house (scraping paint in 115 degree weather! ugh!) and working on a few things of my own. i am learning poi and how to knit. i just made some devil sticks (chris - i hope you are getting use out of my old ones) and am starting a new art project that i'm hoping will land me a show in a gallery.

when we finally leave lynchburg, we are headed to maine and from there who knows? i want to hit another gathering soon.

this summer is and has been one for the books; fun filled and action packed. i'm sure there are a million stories i could share, so many people have touched my life in the past few months. definately one of the best summers of my life so far.

I worked, went to concerts, got drunk, went to a stag and doe and a wedding, watched a shitload of late night movies, went to the cottage, got drunk, went fishing, went camping, I took my dog to the conservation area often, I also euthanized my cat (not fun at all) and I got escorted out of a bar on my birthday.

I read a handful of books, I went to the farmer's market every second saturday morning, I helped my old man put in hardwood floors and I painted the kitchen.

Oh, and I rode a motorcycle and an ATV by my self for the first time. Was a little scary, but a lot of fun.

I gave birth to a healthy baby boy and set up a home with my husband who (finally) moved to Sk from Ohio. Those two things took up most of my summer.... no big trips or anything like that, but still, very exciting!

I went to the unholly alince tour, 2 funerals, lots of family functions I do believe, Spent lots of time with my grandma <3, hung around with friends and went to the movies, went to the nattawasga inn which wasn't as fun as it sounds, read a few good books. But most of my summer was full of watching my little brother and sister...and trying to keep te "peace" around the house.

Thats about it...it seems like a boring summer but this actually was the best one. *sigh* schooll ...starts soon borrreeee *gag*

Even though it's post-labor day, can I still contribute my summer essay?

Granted, it isn't going to be that long....

Well, after a few months of hard work I was able to finally get my ebay store started and running, and even though it's extremely early, I'm happy to say that so far I've had a good amoutn of success.

For the first time since moving out of my parents', I've finally grown a successful garden, and have so far made 100+ jars of preserves from what I've grown, of all sorts of things from jams, jellies, pie fillings to tomato sauces! Yummy! Will make fantastic december-holiday gifts!

My husband and I spent 1 week vacation out in BC in July, another week vacation in Nova Scotia in August, and it was awesome to explore Canada that way! :) Just a fantastic trip on both ends, and met some fantastic shiny people!

    That's it!
