i am, indeed, a newfie.. spent some time in toronto.. came back for the winter and im moving for good in june!
well your tax dollars arent all coming to newfoundland.. there are people all across canada who are availing of government support.. yeah i agreee there are a fair number of newfoundlanders who arentr working but work is hard to come by here.. luckily i managed to get work in the entertainment field here (pretty hard to do) but don't talk down on the place until you live here and experience the struggle to find employment.. much love Salem
hence the population of the provience being 500,000 mostly all thats here is older people who wouldnt get work if they went away anyway..and i agree there are young people here who SHOULD indeed be outwest getting work.. they have families and expect tax payers to support them.. when they are fully able to work.. sad but true
I was born in Outer Cove! Moved when I was young, but we visit every other year or so and it's the most beautiful place in the world <3
We hope to check out THE ROCK this summer. We've travelled extensively in N.Ontario, but still seeking a quieter place to sit and ponder for awhile. (We have a farm in Ontario so we aren't planning to relocate.)
if you want to sit and ponder then the "rock" is definitely the place for you to take a vacation ...but don't be surprised if a local just stops by to chat with you ..the rock is a friendly place..the scenery is awesome ..bring a digital camera with plenty of batteries and memory cards
