My feet are not that smelly I usually do not like fishing, even though apparently I'm a "natural" in Arkansas standards... but I just got word from a friend about a really nice captain from whom I can rent a small boat and go into the sea... so I might fish for some halibut. Thank you very much Bumble Alaska is rather great Lodog, but I do not think I will be comming back any time too soon... so much of the world left to see!
It is... rode a bus today to Seward, shitty weather, but lovely glaciers. Seals were just playing in the water infront of me... lovely.
BraveSirRubin, Pardon my ignorance but when the old-timers get together up their in Seward do they still talk about the Great Earthquake '64', and is the land deformation still apparent even today. Hotwater
Alaska is one place I so want to visit before my time is up. You have only fed that desire. Thank you for sharing.
oh my god... not only your pics are beautiful but you're hot!!!! can we meet? now that Nick and I are broken up... (who knows for how long... don't wanna think...) can we meet
Pure envy. Those are such beautiful sites, I'm glad you're getting to see them. They all look so silent. And you look lovley as always too.
Great pix! Glad you made it to Alaska. I loved it up there! Got to spend six months there once, it was a blast and I made enuf money to start a trip around the world. About those sled dogs. If you haven't seen their daily living conditions, you're in for even more of a shock! These dogs live outside 24/7, usually tied to a pole. They are treated like barnyard animals (or worse), never like a pet. I agree, they should all be allowed to run free. It's not like most of those who "own" them, really need sled dogs (few do anymore with snowmobiles around). It's a hobby that often leads to animal abuse, although some "owners" are more conscientious, esp. those that compete in races (but of course they drive their dogs much harder).
Are you in Alaska as part of a college project? I wish I could travel as much as you. You've been all over the place. .
Thank you all Skip, the sleddogs do sound terrible. I have seen them tied up and so. Truly saddened me. My hair shall not be cut! (I have to constantly say that to my demanding mother) Shaggie, I was not there for a college project. I just worked all summer, saved some money... and off I went. I'm broke now, but my Alaskan experience is much more important than money. Plus, I doubt I gained weight. 117.2 pounds is what the scale told me yesterday when I visited the school nurse.
