    ... and I will laugh.

    Actually, the world will.

This pertains to fossil fuel use and I can't wait to see us run out.

Because then everybody will suddenly realize that this is a problem.

Sometimes that's the only way to get it through people's heads: to seriously run out of something. This will truly make people treasure it.

You don't know watcha got til its gone.

We'll suddenly realize "Oh, man it's all gone."

Plus, the environment will be much cleaner.

We'll use solar energy and water and wind power.

This will maybe get through people's heads that this is a problem.

no kidding! I've been telling everyone I know that I hope gas goes to $5 a gallon or something rediculous.

I only know *one* person that has actually changed their ways due to what is happening to the environment.

snyfin...did you just agree to your own post?

I share similar thoughts, however i think there are some valid reasons for the use of fosil fuels...just not one in 20 cars driving along with more than one person in it for example.

hospitals and food transportation (not every country can be self sustaining)
science & development (would the internet work without electricity? should we move to nuclear energy?)

i do my bit but could do more...i could...
get rid of my computer (manufacturing/silicone/waste/development)
make sure the weed i smoke isn't grown indoors (oh the power hungry lights)
    and the list goes on.

yeah we could use alternative power ;-) but in order for us to expirement learn and devlop these options, we needed to first use fosil fuels, this i believe is all part of our evolution and i hope we don't stop evolving

Fossil fuel isn't going to run out anytime soon folks, if it does you'll probably be older than I am. Don't hold your breathe, just make sure you all have jobs that pay you enough to afford what the petroleum and energy companies demand. They are manipulating the market for their own gain right now.

Think about it, funny that the more you use the price goes up, the less you use the price goes up. These guys control our governments and call the shots. It's not a market based system. It's controlled by those who profit, and they aren't going to let alternative energy sources gain a foothold, unless big changes are made in who legislates our world.

Contrary to what you hear in the news oil surpluses are up, but then so are prices....why is that?
