Just over 8 months of knottyness, they're a mess and they're loopy and kinky and all kinds of crazy. But I love them dearly and I wouldn't want them any other way, it's all part of the journey. They were started by a little sectioning and backcombing and then left to do their thing, I use salt water spray and palm roll when I have spare time.

Tell me, do you use wax? When I did my dreads I thought you only wax once (How wrong I was).

Also, Try getting out to somewhere cold. I use to go you during the winter and my babies started to lock in the cold! It helps if it's a cold windy day (I'm quite lucky, I live up in scotland). By looking at you avatar, it says you live in england. PERECT! COLD WINTERS!

It depends on choice the wax thing. I've heard of places selling natural wax.

My hair looks similar. I'm about at that 8 month mark right now with my dreads. They are a lot of fun to watch develop and grow.

    Peace and love

i got the loopy things before too. what you can do to straighten the dreads out that have the loops is make a hole in the loop by pulling the loop apart and pull the dread through the loop. mine are almost 5 months. nice dreads mama!

this is my second set of dreads and I flipped the last set, flipping them is a bad bad bad idea as it actually encourages the kinks in the long run and can make the dreads bunch up. All sets of dreadlocks I've started I've advised against flipping and pulling dreads through loops.
