Who here likes Sufjan Stevens? I've been listening to a few of his albums (Illinois, Michigan, Seven Swans) and I love them. He's such a creative guy. So who else here likes Sufjan?

I have listened to almost every bit of music he has made and I have to say....very unique and original. I love the guy writes good music, and if he were to sell out he would make a lot of money...but he stays true to the good hearted side of making music because he loves it.

I really got into Illinois, but I can't listen to the album anymore. I don't know why.

He's great, Avalanche was good, too. Just stay away from Enjoy Your Rabbit...

Yeah, I've heard a song from Enjoy Your Rabbit, and it sounded a whole lot different from his other stuff.

I'm sure he's making more money now than he would if he signed with a large label. Right now, between his high record sales, endless world-wide touring, all his commercial use (expect to hear "Chicago" alot more on TV and Movies soon.), and iTunes sales, most of that money is going straight to him, since he's doing it on his own label. Not to mention he's in an upcoming documentary, which is getting some decent reviews. Just how it should be, good artists get good money, bad artists get none. :)

I love Illinois the most, Michigan is alright and I haven't heard the other.

He is amazing and has a unique flare to him.

I have all of his albums. I heard Illinoise last year at a coffee place in Nashville when I was out with a friend, and was totally distracted (in a good way) by the music. Avalanche may actually be my favorite at this point, because it has a good deal more psychedelia to it than anything else he's done.

This may sound a bit over-the-top, but he's the best new artist I've heard so far this decade. So count me very much a fan.

You're right about Sufjan's songs being placed in movies...take Little Miss Sunshine (Chicago) for example. If you ever get the chance to see him live, do it. His live performances are amazing and his voice still sounds all angelic like it does on the albums.
