I hate how school sucks up so much of my time. Remember sleep? I wanted to knit today, but nooooo. Beowulf is 64 times more important.
wait 'til you read grendel it's an awesome book or so it is in my opinion yeah, i was thinking just today how school used to take up all my time and now i have crazy school scheduling like not having to go to campus until 2 o'clock on tuesdays and thursdays, and leaving at 4:45 although MWF doesn't work out so well, though my classes aren't back to back, they're spaced just far enough apart where it doesn't make sense for me to come back to the apartment. well, i kinda can between my first and second class, but not for long.
Eh, i start in 2 days I got my schedule today .. And i went to the old anglophone cemetary of my town
We're only reading parts of both Grendel and Beowulf... The school "can't afford" enough books. Bullshit, I say. I agree, it's really good...except I feel like a horrible person because I kind of wanna be all "Aww, po' Grendel." 2 o'clock??! God, that sounds nice.
i start tomorrow. but im a senior so its my last year!! i cant wait to graduate and never step into that festering shithole they call a school.
I didn't particularly enjoy it. I just seem to remember it as being significant because it is one of the oldest examples of the English language still around, rather than its masterful storytelling.
it does get pretty crazy like with the thing about the goat at the beginning (i actually don't remember what it was, but i remember something about a goat...and it being kind of...lewd) and with the woman grendel basically like... molests? ... in front of everyone good times
I haven't started school yet... Even though I'm looking forward to it, and I generally like school... It's when they take away my time for oldwoman hobbies that really sets me off... No Beowulf for me yet.
