2 years ago when shane and i found out that i was pregnant he reminded me that three months earlier he had told me that i would get pregnant. well i got pregnant and now aiden is here and a couple days ago shane and i had sex and as he was cumming he had a look on his face and he said that i did not want to know what he was thinking. I told him to tell me and he said that i was going to get pregnant. so what are the odds of this happening again????

The odds depend on a lot of things. Were you using birth control of any sort? What sort? Have you started menstruating yet? If so, when is your period expected? (14 days or so before your period is the common time for ovulation.)

The odds depend on a lot of things.

this happened 11 days after my period ended. i did use VCF (vaginal contreceptive foam) but then again i used when i got pregnant with aiden so it didnt work. I feel horrible because i dont want to be pregnant i dont think i will be able to handle being pregnant taking care of aiden working and going to school. am i a bad person for not wanting to be pregnant???

Foam is meant to be combined with another method of birth control such as condoms. Alone it's reliability statistics are less than reassuring. I would keep that in mind later on. If condoms are disagreeable you may want to look into a diaphram or a cervical cap; they are used with spermicide (foam) and the effectiveness is considerablly higher when they are combined.

You're not horrible for not wanting to be pregnant, I would imagine it would be very stressful at this point. However, you very well could be pregnant. Someone else may know better than I do.

your women's doc should be able to prescribe you a diaphragm. And if your man gets soft, when using condoms, he should change his mind about them, because that's the only reason why it happen: The MIND!

I was trying to help, there isn't really a need to get angry at us. As the poster below my original post said, you can be fitted at most any health clinic, including health departments and planned parenthoods. Since you already use spermicide as your chosen birth control, a diaphram may be what you'd like best since it isn't that much different but the effectiveness is still a *bit* higher (although not enough I'd be comfortable, myself).

You could check into an IUD as well if you're a good candidate. I have one and I love it, and I haven't had children which is generally recommended before an IUD so I'm sure you'd qualify as long as you're monagomous or at least very safe.

Anyways, using a diaphram WITH spermicide the effectivness is still less than a lot of other forms of birth control... pills, shot, IUD or condoms. And that's with spermicide. Spermicide is really not meant to be used alone. It's meant to be an aid to another form of BC.

From Planned Parenthood here is the effectiveness rates:

    How Well Spermicide Works
Of 100 women who use contraceptive foam, cream, jelly, film, or suppositories, 29 will become pregnant during the first year of typical use. Fifteen will become pregnant with perfect use. Using a condom increases effectiveness.

Sixteen out of 100 women who use the diaphragm will become pregnant during the first year of typical use.* Six will become pregnant with perfect use.**

Lots of guys have the problem with going soft when using a condom. There are several websites dedicated to helping them overcome this problem. (I'm too lazy at this moment to look those sites up for you, just google it) The easiest way to get his "lil buddy" used to a condom, according to these websites, is to have him masturbate while using a condom. I walked in on my husband doing this one time, asked him what the heck he was doing, made a joke about "safe sex" and laughed. But hubby told me that it works.

I am glad you are not pregnant, Fairy, because it seemed that it was not a time you wanted to be.

PP has some good alternatives and they can give you all of them, and let you decide.

    Good luck.

KC, did you know there are now studies that Couvades is actually a PHYSICAL condition? Some men have more estrogen and progesterone receptors in their bodies, and they actually pick up pheremone signals from pregnant womyn, and it actually raises their own hormone levels when they live in proximity to a pregnant womyn. It is not a Psychiatric condition. It's real. Pretty cool.

All Bear did when I was pregnant with numbers 2 and 3 was to gain weight. :D

my husband came to that very same conclusion without scientific study. his version of it, so sweet, was "i think i'm allergic to pregnant women, they make me sick." isn't that charming? lol. but he's also of the opinion that i have have a pheromone trail a mile wide, anyway.
