Stalinism developed russia into a shithole pretty successfully trotskysim has yet to be tried though.
I'm not much of an expert on communism, but what about Leninism and Marxism? They seem much more communist (to an extent) then Stalin and Trotsky.
seems like a terrible idea. Do you realize how many true splits there are in communist theory? That would be like having a seperate forum in the Christianity forum for every denomination and sect. And why Trotskyism and Stalinism, those are not even the most active sects at the moment... Seems arbitrary.
How are lenin's veiws differnt from Trosky's anyway? Didn't Trosky claim to be a Leninist? I have a it more respect for Trosky then Lenin though. Torsky tired to bring democracy back to the USSR before Stalin exiled him.
Trotsky and Lenin essentialy agreed with each other, in fact, trots should be better read in lenin than trotsky, but, mao, stalin etc have called themselves leninists, and leninism has thusly become an ideology of very authoritarian communism but i agree, there are too many different strands to bother splitting the forum
"We should split the Communism forum into Trotskyism and Stalinism" I think politics is split up enough
The main appeal of Trotskyism is that he got killed, so you can always pretend that trotskyism was somehow going to work out better than all the other catastrophes and disasters caused by other versions of communism. In the end it doesn't make much difference, its all communism.
Thats like saying anarcho capitalism is the same as third-wayism, its all capitalism. Trotskyism is vert different from Stalinism for example, not because trotsky died, but because trotskyism involves workers ownership etc... And Green, who the fuck would post in utopian? i doubt anyone would...
