Past the stars in fields of ancient void, Through the shields of darkness where they find, Love upon a land a world unknown Where the sons of freedom make their home Leave the earth to Satan and his slaves Leave them to their future in their grave Make a home where love is there to stay Peace and happiness in every day. Black Sabbath - Into The Void
I as a boy, I believed the saying the cure for pain was love How would it be if you could see the world through my eyes? Supertramp - Hide In Your Shell
thanks but I need only those texts that were written during the sixties era, so far ive got "Strawberry Fields Forever by the Beatles, Jefferson Airplane "White Rabbit",Scott McKenzie “San Francisco”,rock musical "Hair" title song lyric, “Blowin' in the Wind’ Bob Dylan, the Byrds "Turn! Turn! Turn!,the Beatles “Revolution" and some poem written by anonymous hippie. I'm writing my bechelors degree now, and ive stuck that is why i need help, i have to submit my thesis on Wednesday
True, it's not TYPICAL hippie... but I think it talks about people who try to establish a society of ''peace and happiness'' leaving behind ''Satan'' wich we could compare to war, junk media, etc. Sounds hippie to me but whatever. I thought it would be interesting for ariciia to have a non-typical version of peace and love...
Yeah, you got a point there. Those lyrics of Black Sabbath are from 1971, weren't there still a lot of hippies in those days? Surely more than in 1961, for example. And there are more albums from that year that are associated with the hippieculture. I put one more of Sabbath here that could be considered hippie: Children of the Grave Revolution in their minds The children start to march Against the world in which they have to live And all the hate that's in their hearts They're tired of being pushed around And told just what to do They'll fight the world until they've won And love comes flowing through. Children of tomorrow live in the tears that fall today Will the sunrise of tomorrow bringing peace in any way Must the world live in the shadow of atomic fear Can they win the fight for peace or will they disappear? So you children of the world, listen to what I say If you want a better place to live in spread the word today Show the world that love is still alive you must be brave Or you children of today are children of the grave.
They don't need to be song lyrics or poems, right? If not, try going to the library and looking through books written in that time period. There will be plenty of text in books (obviously!) that might otherwise remain unknown to you.
Im from poland ... so i havent got the possibility to lend books about hippies as there is total lack of them in polish libraries, even in my native languege i now i looked for them( im writing my thesis on hippies issues and american culture), and couldnt find heh
