Me and a friend use to shoot squirrels with a bb gun when we were 12.

    It was fun.

How many times do I have to say it? I AM NOT A HIPPY AND I DON"T PRETEND TO BE!!!

Who are you to know if I have or have not reflected on the incident? YOu don't know shit about me or what I have been through, or even how I felt after I shot that cat. I can't do anything else about it now, except feel regret for ever letting it happen, because it was wrong.

You say I have problems? Of course I have problems, and so does everyone else. We have all done things we are not proud of. Well, most of us have. Obviously some of us are perfect and haven't done anything wrong in our entire lives. I guess you just happen to be one of those higher beings that has made no mistakes and can honestly say you have lived a perfect life:rolleyes: Bullshit. We are all human and can do nothing about past mistakes, except learn from them and change what needs to be changed, in regards to who you are and what actions you take.

BTW, I do love nature, but like I said, I have never pretended to be a hippy, unlike some people, who just post stupidly ignorant responses because they think it's what the hippies of the past would say.

It's incredible just how hypocrytical some of you are. It's downright hilarious. I agree, what TopNotch did is downright disgusting, I'll say it right now, it was a fucked up thing to do and it makes me sick just thinking about it. But he says he feels remorseful, what else do you expect him to do? Travel back in time and unkill the cat? What the fuck? He realized his mistake and is remorseful, sure that won't bring back the cat but what else do you want him to do?
And one of you said that unlike shooting a cat with a 12 gauge, hunters killing deer is alright because "hunters obey the laws of the land" or something. What a stupid fucking thing to say. Do you think the fact that the hunter obeyed the law makes the deer feel any better?
People do stupid things and once it's done, it's done. You can't fucking change what you did in the past. Some of you who have been telling TopNotch that his karma will come back to haunt him and that he'll die a horrible death, and this one guy who expressed his desire to stomp on TopNotch's neck, well reread those posts and you'll realize you're the fucked up ones just to say something so nasty. And then there are those of you who lack basic common sense. For fuck's sake stop asking TopNotch why he started this thread... it's a fucking True Confessions forum. Don't get it? Well, a True Confessions forum is a forum in which people make True Confessions. Geez!

Yup. It was a very fucked up and disgusting thing to do, and I know that. Thanks for being reasonable. You realize that it was a horrible thing, but you know I feel regret for doing it. That's all I can ask.

    Thanks, bud.

wow. that's a fucking bummer. i can't claim a place of pure innocence, i'm a hunter. but it's different, somehow. what was the point of killing the cat? i'm confused. still, fucking teenagers make no sense in the wierd shit they do.

you know, i was watching a show that was examining the hunter mentality of the male being underutilized but still a heavy influence in their actions, especially as teenagers who don't have that self control that comes with the further maturation of the brain. the only difference between a serial killer and a typical hunter is the understanding of the difference and the ability to control the desire to pounce on something. something like that.

What's the difference? A hunter or an immature teenager who makes a stupid decision, it's all the same. Actually wait, it isn't the same. A rational adult killing an animal is far worse than an immature teenager doing it. Teenagers are weird, immature and fucked up... right? What's your excuse?

How are you going to live your life without ending others'?

You can't, so what is your excuse, Lather? Those veggies are just as alive as cats and humans.

I think a good excuse is: “Hey, my life is more important to me than the lives of the things I eat, so I do what I must to continue existing."

I guess that makes some degree of sense... but still, to me it's all the same.

hahaha this thread is really stupid... come on it's just a fucking cat...

I can't see why people get so worked up over animals... The extra iron and such we get from eating meat is what have allowed our brains to devellop in to what they are, so if everyone turned veggie, in hundreds maybe thousands of generations we'd be monkeys again...

It's all a matter of opinion on whether you feel remorse form killing things. After all it's in our blood. We've been doing it for millions of years. And for all you vegies out there, the only difference between plants and animals is that animals are just a little more comlpex. Life is just a bunch of chemicals reacting together. Whether it be plant or not. Some why do you eat plants then? Just because they don't have feelings? They're just made up of a bunch of chemicals just like us. So when plant and animal tissue is disasimbled from its regular function it doesn't go to waste if an animal doesn't consume it. Latter it will be used as fertilizer for plants and fungi.

As for whether i have feelings for animal life, well some days i do, and some days i enjoy busin a cap in they ass. I just look at life as what it is. A bunch of chemicals. It's just an opinion as to whether you think that is special or not.

yeah that was really stupid now that I read it again with a clear head

hahaha, still tho... I don't see what all the fuzz is about, but I guess with the kind of forum this is, this is the one place where you'd find the people who care :p

mind you, i'm not judging him on killing the cat. the instinct to kill is stronger in some than in others. we're not all exactly the same in that, i think. i think it's something that, left undirected, will from time to time get out of control. it's a bummer though, when you've got those bizarre, pointless acts (whatever they are) you've committed as a youth sticking in your head for so long, though.

well, i assume you don't eat meat at all for conscientious reasons, and that's fine. but i do eat meat. i don't find anything particularly unusual, cruel or abnormal in killing for my food. it's a part of life. killing something you're not going to use does tend to wear down on one's head, though. probably our instinctive nature not to waste making an appearance, rare though it may be. i have a pretty strong drive to prey on animals. i managed to curb it until i was able to hunt for my feed. it's directed towards something that does not hurt other people or go to waste. but if the OP is true, it's something that kicks around in his head in a bothersome manner. this is unfortunate. usually, finding a valuable meaning for something help to relieve some of the burden.

not true. i gave up the wasteful products of the beef industry years ago. if i don't kill a cow elk, i'll buy a quarter cow locally from a ranch. you can get organic, free range chicken and eggs easily now, too. i DO love the thrill of the hunt, it's a part of me. but a sport hunter is one of those fuckers that just goes out for the biggest, most brag-worthy trophy. i shoot cow elk. and while you may be completely lacking in any self worth or self control, not all of us are so sadly lacking in character.
