I'm just wondering where y'all buy your beads. Where I live, I've only been able to find beads at places like Hobby Lobby, Michael's, and Wal-Mart. I've been to a few beading stores a few hours away, but they are almost always mostly glass and beads more fancy than one would normally use for kynd jewelery. Is there a great place online to buy beads that I don't know about? I need to be kind of frugal right now, but as I'm working on starting my own business, I figure I can spend a little bit more than I normally would if the stuff is great. Any suggestions for me?
I usually buy my beads from http://www.firemountaingems.com/ They have great prices and a good selection. I also recently started buying supplies on http://www.etsy.com . There are lots of supply sellers in the catagories for Supplies (comercial) and Supplies (handmade) I am waiting on beads from http://JennEdwardsDesigns.etsy.com she makes the most breathtaking beads out of polymer clay. There are several bead stores online. I love this store: http://www.venetianbeadshop.com/ They have the best selection of Murano Glass beads. The hand blown beads are beautiful. I have several. They have larger holes, which is nice for hemp. Etsy is also a good place to get glass pendants. Jubulant Glass works comes to mind. Anyway that should get you started. If you need more let me know. When I went to Minneapolis I checked out Bobby Bead and it had a great selection. You can order from their site here- bobbybead.com Back here in Texas though, I get them from a nice little store called Nomadic Notions. If you go into whatever city you live near I'm sure you can find a place that sells some nice beads
I highly recommend buying glass beads and pendants from individual artists. You can google it. Ahem, (plug) I can also wholesale my work for reasonable prices, on a sliding scale that gets lower the larger the order. My website is http://hummblebee.com Good luck!
Hi I make lampwork beads. But I like to also get beads at goodwill breaking up necklaces or go to bead shows. There is tons like down the street bead shows and intergalactic bead shows that travel. Tara www.themadbeadmakers.com www.madseamstress.com
