hey all, just a question, i'm a virgin and so is the girl i'm going to have sex with in the near future, and i was wondering - since we are both virgins and have not had any sexual contact with anyone else before and dont have any signs of STD's (so we assume we are both STD-free), would having vaginal intercourse using the combination pill, without a condom or any other method of birth control/std prevention mean that we would have no chance of getting an STD aswell as the 99% reliability of the combination pill as a contraceptive? so basically what im asking is - is it possible to get an STD if both people are virgins and don't have STD's? and is there any other contraceptives you would recommend? (we would both rather not anything that reduces the intimacy of the act - ie. a condom) thanks a lot, chris.
it is possiable to have an STD while being, technically, a virgin. You can contract an STD via oral sex... so if you don't want to use a condom you should both be tested before hand. Also, I doubt I need to mention that AIDS can be transmited in ways that are non-sexual.
we've only had oral sex with each other and not many times either, so if that is all then it's looking good because i know that you can pretty much only get AIDS from unprotected sex with someone who already is infected, sharing needles/drugs with other people and we both don't and havn't done any drugs (other than alcohol of course), nor have we had any skin grafts or organ transplants, although there is the chance that someone could get infected at birth from their mother - but that would have been picked up in the 17 years of our lives so far, so assuming we both don't have any STD's, then the only thing we have to worry about is pregnancy, which is prevented 99% effectively (when used correctly of course) with the pill...am i right? or any other opinions/comments/anything to add? much appreciated, chris.
If neitherh person has an dSTD, no you cannto magically make one from two STD-free people. HOWEVER I strongly reocmmend yall still get STD checks done during your yearlyphysicals or before having intercourse with one another, juuuuust inc ase (better safe than sorry isnt it?)
I would say it's alright. If you've both never used needles (drug-wise) I'd think you'll be fine. And the pill is really reliable, as long as she takes it everyday at the same time.
hey thanks for your help, ive got a cold at the moment, so i went to see the doctor about it and also asked her the same question as i asked here, and the doctors response was that there is no need for us to be tested as we are in a monogomous? relationship (only seeing each other) and we trust each other, we haven't had sex before, and i trust her to take the pill regularly, she said it was perfectly fine....so thanks anyway guys and gals (u were right) chris. ps. she said u don't rly hav to worry about HIV/AIDS if ur both virgins, becoz the doctor said it would hav bin noticed while u (we) were growing up if it was transferred from a mother during childbirth and if u havn't had sex then u 99.999999999999999% definitely havn't got it.
Because a baby crying in the background wouldn't be THAT distracting, either. Play it safe, brother. Wrap it up.
You can contract HIV/AIDS from coming in contact with ANY type of bodily fluid of an infected person. If you have the TINIEST cut on your had and an infected person gets....saliva or what-have-you ON that cut, there's a big chance you can become infected. Just so you know....
Dude the realistic side of me says that unless there is a medical test, its good policy to assume that one's partner might be unknowingly carrying a disease. "Condoms always" is a good habit to get into. The romantic in me says that for both first times, you should just do it bareback. Risk of pregnancy exists. Your lady might want to look at her cycle and see where she is at. Women's Forum has a sticky about natural birth control. ***Old Fart Warning*** Its good to see a man be concerned about pregnancy and sexual health. [/Old Fart]
like i said - the pill, and we are both clean, virtually no problems coz theres no chance of std's or aids and theres next to no chance of pregnancy, thanks all.
The only thing I'll add after reading what you've written is this: Make sure your girlfriend has been taking the pill for at least a month. When I first took them (back in the dark ages), they told me to wait a month before I depended on the pill to keep me from getting pregnant. Also, (if the two of you don't already know) taking antibiotics can cause the pill to be ineffective. I speak from experience on that last one.
yeh, i read all about the pill and how you have to wait for a month before its effective (alternatively, if u take it on the first day of your period it is immediately effective, which we will plan on doing, but we will still wait a month after that just to be safe), and i know that taking antibiotics and other drugs can affect the effectiveness of the pill. Also, of special note is smoking - if you smoke the effectiveness of the pill is greatly reduced also (however this isnt a problem in our case as we both see no point in smoking and know that its simply bad for you because it has no benefits, like you dont "get anything from it", its just bad)...im pretty sure ive got everything covered, thanks.
