anything cool at all go on there? 2 hrs north of san fran, can't be too bad. please let me know any info you've got. is it freak - friendly? i might be getting a job there.
Calistoga at the north end of the Napa Valley. Good wine. Traffic sucks. Hwy 29 is crammed with tourists. It will never be widened because the ground is needed for vineyards. Just to the north is Middletown, home of Harbin Hot Springs. An extensive clothing optional hot spring run by a spiritual group that believes that money is good. A bit further north is Clear Lake. Good low cost Mexican food in the area. And Some of the finest and most expencive restraunts in the state are in the the Napa Valley. Callistoga is just up the road from the CIA. (Culinary Institute of America). Hope you like Cab.
they really need to make the napa valley railway a real interurban transit system and not just a damd tourist dinner train! if your life doesn't center arround fancy wine and you can't afford for it to, it's probably not the most wonderful and interesting place. but then i've never lived there and the weather there isn't bad at all. well what you'd expect of perfect wine growing weather. napa valley is one of the most perfect wine growing regeons in the world. like the ones in france and romania, only not as old as a place where it's actualy been done. =^^= .../\...
thanks for the quick replies! so it seems as though calistoga is lovely, but not necessarily happenin! well, it's 2 hrs north of san fran and 2 hrs south of arcata - there's no heady business in between? hmm... what's there to do round town? any music at all?
