Hey, everyone. I have two questions for anyone that is into lucid dreaming and able to help me out. I was reading about lucid dreaming a while ago, and I became very interested and determined to learn how. I am still reading more about it, and I just attempted it last night. I have no problem remembering my dreams every night, so I figure that this will help me a lot in trying this out. Anyway, I will get back to my questions. Last night I told myself a million times that I am going to go to sleep, dream, realize I am dreaming, and then have the ability to take control of my dream. Well, I had a dream of standing out in the middle of nowhere, and I somehow realized that was I dreaming. As soon as I realized it though, I became extremely scared and woke up immediately with my heart racing. Has that ever happened to anyone starting out with lucid dreaming? I haven't heard of anyone becoming full of fear and instantly waking up when they have lucid dreams, but maybe it was because it was my first lucid dream. My second question is, how can I help myself to remain calm so that I can stay in my dream? I appreciate feedback.
Hi there lunarflowermaiden, the dreams are part of waking life, and vice versa. How you act in daylight has impact on the dreams. It's all interwoven. So just make your day a training ground. Be calm - not side-tracked, and not overwhelmed by the phenomena of life, also not by the fears. Rather let the joys of doing take over. Open to your own self - know what you really want. Be aware, no matter if you feel like dreaming or waking - be lucid as the best you can be. Good luck
This has happened to me lots of times. I find one of the hardest things in lucid dreaming, isn't actually becoming lucid.. it's staying lucid. It's a skill that takes practice and experience. Keep at it.
