today i was listening to the radio and they were talking about how after they send the navy once more to Iraq they are going to reinstate the draft that means that any men between 18-25 that aren't already in the U.S armed forces can be drafted. this is horrible its Vietnam all over again. has anyone else heard anything about this?
yeah. They always talk about it. Considering how many dissapprove of what's already happening it'd be to risky for them to re-instate it.
They’ll need to if the government wants to blow-up Iran. There’s no way in hell we'll hold Iraq against the peoples will and take over Iran with out more baby killers.
The whole thing with Iran is that they have nuclear weapons. We have more. They would call it fighting with their own ammo. Which is hypocritical in a way.
I really don't think the draft will get reinstated any time soon. Most republicans are trying to space themselves from supporting war efforts too much because they know how many Americans are against the pointless war in Iraq. It would pretty much be political suicide to support a bill to reinstate the draft.
They've talked about it since 9/11. If you don't want to be drafted, leave. Or, when they call you in, just don't take the oath (because you DO have to take the oath). The worse they can do is make you rot in prison a few years, I guess.
I agree with Rachael ... It's not gonna happen. If it does ... then there is gonna be alot of unhappy people.
I'm undreaftable. Ironically on the military PFT I score over 300. I could qualify for SF. I got it pretty sweet.
Many of our wars (not just Nam) had the draft. It may not be fair (and I sure as hell dont want it), but its often helped us out. That being said, I'm absolutely against this war and don't think the govt is going to draft people.
I'm sure if I take a couple tabs before I go to the draft office they won't want me. Don't they deny insane people? -Mike

Well if that happens, I'll just say I'm gay or I will go to good old Canada. Looked it I would go if it were worth fighting but I won't put my life on the line for a load of bullshit. I'm really hoping it won't happen but with recruitment rates down who knows.
It won't happen. The war is already too unpopular. They wouldn't ever get away with it. The President cannot reinstate the draft anyway, Congress does.
