What *artsy* person are you?

I mean, if you are *artsy* at all... if not just ignore this thread, you suck (just kidding )

So I mean, what arts make you the artistic person that you are? Is it fine arts, such as drawing, painting, sculptures, etc., photography, film, theater, music...?

Myself I think it's my love for fine arts in general. I don't have much talent for drawing or painting, but I am a fine observer and can sketch pretty interesting abstract shit... but anyone can do abstract... I am a photography lover, looking at good photos, taking them, editing them... I adore it... FILM is another one of my hobbies. Watching, critiquing, analizing, writing scripts and directing (in my dreams)... I love independant films. And music of course... I used to be a pretty decent musician but after an accident I had to stop playing guitar. I still play piano though, but my forte is composition. I'm good with music theory and I have a good ear... I sing too... and well it's well known I have a huge album collection, love vynil and could spend hours debating on an artist/album...

So that's what makes me an *artsy* person, I guess... what about you?

 

I was a dancer (ballet, modern, jazz), I worked on stage and behind the scenes with a couple of theaters, I love to draw and I'm thinking about taking up painting. Oh and I love to design and make my own clothes.

Yeah I forgot to mention I was a dancer for years also! Ballet, modern-jazz and... tap-dancing hehe

I was an "actress" in theater also for a couple years... I was 9 though... but I always got the main role! Reason my exellent memory and I guess my good acting

 

I'm a guitarist (oh yeah!), music is my life, I guess. I play piano, also. I love drawing too. I like to write stories, but I'm not really good at it yet... And once I played in a theater act... In conclusion, ART ROCKS!!! :sunglasse

 

I desire the persona of an artist and possibly try to create that by engaging myself in artistic activities. I appreciate all kinds of art I suppose....paintings, drawings/sketches, films, photography, poetry, etc. But, I feel like a fool when I try my hand at any of them. I've tried painting, sketching, poetry and photography...and, all I can do is laugh at myself and my efforts.

 

Why do it in your dreams?... why not make your own movies?

 

I'm a lot like you in that sense then!

I do play guitar decently though, and sometimes write my own songs. That's my only artistic quality. Well, that and making hemp jewellery.

 

painting, drawing, knitting, gluing random objects together, crayon, charcol, oil pastels, cooking

 

Music~mostly just listen to it. Not sure if I even remember how to play the couple little things my grandmother taught me on piano.
Drawing~mostly cartoon and/or kiddie stuff for my kids~my daughter is the artist. Love playing around with PSP though.
Photography & writing poetry & tie-dying & jewelry making

 

violin making is my job (and i love it!) then there is the silkscreening t shirts and cards and block printing i do on the side.

I write too... a lot... actually my major is journalism, but what I think I'd like to do most is becoming a critic in entertainment. I also write poetry, sometimes if I'm in the right mood... which is rare... but I always emjoy reading it.

And cooking! of course how could I forget, it's an art I love cooking all sorts of exotic meals and decorating plates...

I wish I could sew and knit. Then I'd make my own creations... but that's like drawing, I'm not good at it at all...

And maybe, maybe someday I'll direct my own movie... who knows...

knitting is artsy, right? It's amazing how creative it is.... and not to toot my own horn, but I've been getting out of the 'traditional' patterns and just making things more attuned with who I'm knitting for... ie I've managed to master silhouette patterns of some of my brother's favourite musicians and knit them into sweater patterns and such, which he loves.

 

I'm a martialartsy person... karate, takes years and years to learn and several lifetimes to master...

 

drawing, painting (need to get back into these), photography, cooking, music... i don't play anything, but i like to listen. my brother and sister both play instruments. watching films, and i really enjoy plays the few times i've seen some, reading and some writing of poetry. i wanna get into writing a little more... i want to write a short story but i get really lazy.

 

Me too! I absolutely love the violin. It seems very difficult to learn how to play though.
