I haven't been out of bed but to pee and grab a bite to eat and to lay in the bathtub (Preston came over yesterday and today to stay with me and do the food getting). But, even after that trip to a BETTER doctor to get a shot (I still can't think of what it was....but I know it was to slow down/stop whatever was happening)....I'm still getting labory contractions. I'm cramping so bad, and they're happening more frequently and getting more painful. No matter what I do, they won't go away. I lay on my left side....I lay on my right side....I drink more water than I know what to do with.
I feel like I'm failing to help Alexis be healthy....is there anything ELSE I can do to keep her in there? I tell her all the time she needs me to be healthy and I want her to stay as long as possible so she isn't sick when she comes. Is she just stubborn, or is my body just not strong enough to fight off early labor? :(

Hon, when I was feeling like a failure during labour, I played music that I know calms me down and sang it to Moire to calm HER down. And in the process of singing to my baby, we BOTH calmed down.

VISUALISE your body holding her, snuggly, and sing, girl, sing...

It's better for the baby to stay in her belly until at least 37 weeks. That's why she's worried.
(((((((((((moon))))))))))) You're doing everything you can. Put it this way, if you kept moving and shopping and stuff, you'd probably already have had her. You're doing great!

    Thanks everyone.

She's still moving and stuff....I'm just worried about her being healthy when she gets here. :( I don't want her to have to be hooked up to all those tubes and stuff.
I'll probably go to the hospital tomorrow to see what's going on and if there's anything they can do to keep her from coming.

Yep the hospital is the best place to go to.

I had my twin boys at 35 weeks. They didn't need any tubes etc... they are both very fit and active little boys.

    Good luck.

We've been talking, Moon. You know I have been there. It is hard. But, when you DO everything you KNOW is best, that is all you can do. You and the baby are almost there. Just a few more weeks. Even if she comes now, it is better than a week ago, (and even if she had come then, it wasn't your fault) Just keep on, Keepin on.

Bed Rest sucks. But, it often can help keep the baby IN for a while.

    You are both OK.

    Love and hugs,

    Maggie

    Thank you, both.
Yes, the bed rest is....boring. But, I'm getting used to it. Been reading a lot and watching the birthing channels and whatnot. Preparing myself for what my birth might be like in any given situation.
I went to the doctor today. They hooked me up to monitors and took a urine sample to test for some sort of protein (Yes....the hospital here actually DID something that seemed half right). I was there for about 3 hours. My contractions were monitored and Alexis' heartbeat was monitored. My dilation and effacement was also checked: Nearly 2 cm dilated and %60 effaced. My last check up (Monday) was 1.5 cm dilated and %50 effaced. The doctor said the bedrest HAS done a lot. My contractions were still too screwy to admit me, though. They are becoming more irregular, but just as many and just as strong. So, I guess that's a good thing? My cramping is lasting all day no matter what....and I feel a lot of pressure and a sort of poop-pain sensation....only a little different, but that's the best I can describe it. My mom thinks it's Alexis moving down more towards the canal....?
In any case, the doctor said that I've been doing great with my bedrest and I may carry her another 2 weeks or even to the whole 40 weeks....but I have to stay on bedrest....and nothing else, except my doctor visits.
They also told me I could take Tylenol PM for my sleep....I've barely gotten any. I'm not big about taking Tylenol PM to sleep....I don't want to become dependant, but I shall if I NEED it. Tonight I actually think I'll get to sleep before 1 naturally. So, I'll save the meds for another time.

Hey Megan. I just wanted you to know that I've been following all of this, not always posting, and I'm here for you too. All I can do is hope you'll have a healthy young girl... I had some problems when I was born, as I was born early. My liver wasn't functioning and I had to stay in the hospital longer than expected, but I still made it.

Hang in there. You're in my thoughts, along with Syra and all of the other expecting fora mamas that I've known over the years. :D

((((((hugs)))))) I've been popping in now & then to see how you're doing too. The kids & I have been praying for you.

Are you still doing okay hon? OTHER than an acute case of boredom/cabin fever?
    love,
    mom

    :) Thank you.
Yes, I'm still just fine. Bored. Preston has been coming over all he can to keep me entertained. He brings me things to do....he let me borrow his PSP....which I know is HARD for him to do (He's a big gamer). Haha. So, I guess I'm not AS bored....kind of used to it. It'd be nice to go outside. I think I may, but probably won't as my mom keeps an eye on me to keep me in bed, venture out tomorrow and take a lounge chair.
