I want to relocate. I haven't much knowledge about either city other than what I've read. So I'd like some info from the people who live there. And hopefully I can find someone to hang out with when I get there. Which city is more fast paced?
I'm from Cincy, it is OK I guess. I don't know which is more fast paced. I would think Cleveland, but there is lots going on in Cincinnati. Cleveland is colder, and I am partial to the beautiful rolling hills around here. We have a couple universities and some cool college area's, but so does Cleveland. I've been to Cleveland a couple times and had fun, but I wouldn't want to live there.
I live near Cleveland, and I've been to Cincinnati a few times. Cleveland seems to have a faster pace than Cincinnati. To me, Cincinnati has more of a small-town feel to it, but it's just a matter of where in Cincinnati or where in Cleveland you are.
Thanks Sage and Busmama! Some one told me I should go to Columbus. Now I have another option which will make deciding even more difficult.
definitely go to columbus! i just moved from there and it's by far the best place in ohio. after all it does have ohio state which is the 2nd biggest uni in the country. i might be biased though
I live in Columbus, its good here, the central city NOT the suburbs where i grew up....short north, victorian village, german village are my favorite areas, some good restaurants, bars, parties...oh yea and old town east, rent a 100 year old mansion for 700 dollars total a month Personally i think Cincinnati looks very nice as a city but I hate it, i hate the mentality down there....I like Cleveland...rust belt over southern when you live in Ohio you get to live in a big old house, i like that even though i think I will be leaving here relatively soon
hey seamonster66, I live in Clintonville...howdy neighbor! I grew up in the suburbs of Cincinnati, and have no desire to live anywhere near there again. It is also a very politically conservative city.
stay far far far away from the 'Nati' ~*~ really, really ... talkin just about those 2, Cleveland is lieka heaven compared to the tensioned city of Cincinnati .... really bad energy & no love down here at all ..
you talk like there is no one down here, we might not be many but those who know, know where it is at. do you live in cincinnati? you are right about columbus and cleveland, but dayton is the shit.
I like Cincinnati. I go there a lot, all the Bengals games. It's a pretty city but has its problems. The biggest one being its black-white race issues (think 2001 riots). Cleveland has some of the same problems, just not as bad. Still though, I just like Cincinnati better, probably because it's smaller.
I can only speak for Cleveland. The good points: A huge variety of people, lots of cool stuff downtown, great people if you know where to look. The bad points: Lots of mean, bitter people in certain portions of Cleveland, sometimes the variety of people causes tension and we have absolutely crazy weather here! You never know what the weather will be like the next day. There's one neighborhood in Cleveland I like a lot. It borders Lakewood, which is also a pretty nice place to be.
I'm in Rhodes High School right now. Know where that is? Not in the West Park area... I just seem to have made all my friends around there somehow.
It sounds like you're looking for a big-city lifestyle, and thus Cleveland would probably be the only choice to consider. Personally, I like the Cincinnati area. It's more like a big small town, and if you like doing Big City Stuff, we're only about a 90 minute drive from Columbus, Louisville, Indianapolis, and Lexington. And though Dayton is basically just a big military base, it has some decent surrounding communities, such as Yellow Springs, which aren't a far drive from Cincinnati. Going south, spectacular scenery and places for camping, kayaking, and climbing aren't far away in Kentucky. Politically, Southwest Ohio is solid Republican, while Cleveland is known for being much less assholish. In terms of weather, the Cleveland area gets a good deal more snow (56.9 inches per year on average, where Cincinnati averages 23.4 inches). But winter here is really not bad. We've not had a "bad winter" since the mid-1970s. I'm not sure if that helps any, but that's my opinion!
