Best City in the UK?

what about Birmingham?? i'm moving there in the end of september..
any good?

 

To be honest I found it rather grim the two times I've been but I had a nice time anyway. We went to a couple of alright pubs and restaurants. Nothing on Italy though unfortunately!! Why are you moving there of all places? Work or uni or something?

 

yeah university.. i'm an Erasmus student!!
what about the weather?? i hate rain..

I was born in Birmingham, and grew up there in the 60s and most of the 70s. But I left in 76 and hav'nt been back since, so all my memories are of the place in the 70s when it wasnt the exactly best of places in the UK to live. Although I do understand it has been "tided up" a bit!

 

The only time I've actually been to Brimingham was when we stopped at the Ikea next to the M5/M6, whilst we were on our way to Alton Towers.
