I remember a few months ago a bunch of people were talking about how this would be among the most active hurricane seasons ever.

Now were well into hurricane season, and nothing. It's kinda disapointing.

I wouldn't say want, but hurricanes are very cool.

Kinda like if someone said the world was going to end tommorow and you went and got baptized for nothing.

Why would it be for nothing? probably lots of people would do that.

I you think hurricanes are cool, then why dont you hire a video of 'worlds best hurricanes' or something like that, so you can get your kicks without people dying, lol

...And then the world didn't end. I don't want to save my soul for nothing. Lodui's all about deathbed conversion. [IMG]

And I'm not pro hurricane death or destruction of homes or anything. I just like them. Beautiful powerful whirling vortexs.

what coca cola zero? not so fond, more of a doctor pepper person, even though it is proven to give you cancer, apparently. i guess hurricanes are pretty, but i dont live in america, so i dont really get the benefits. :( perhaps when i sail the seven seas as a pirate.....

I understand exactly what Lodui means. I don't want people to die by hurricanes and that is very tragic and sad but I do love running around on the beach during a good tropical storm. Everything seems so ALIVE....

Dude, I understand the context of your statement. There is something very interesting and cool about weather systems. However, living in New Orleans trust me, hurricane is a dirty word. That is unless you are referring to the cocktail.

The gulf coast from Pensacola to the Texas state line cannot handle any major system. I live in a crippled city. I am working my ass off in an attempt to aid in the recovery effort. The entire area has basically been fucking destroyed.

Visit the link provided to you by Squawkers7, that is the extent of hurricanes this region of the states can withstand.

    Fewer Storms in the Forecast

MIAMI, Florida (AP) — The 2006 Atlantic hurricane season should be slightly less active than originally predicted.

Forecasters now expect there to be 12 to 15 named storms and seven to nine hurricanes, three to four of which could be major hurricanes with sustained winds of at least 111 miles-an-hour. That's according to the National Hurricane Center and other National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Government scientists made their first prediction in May. They said the season could produce 13 to 16 named storms, and eight to ten hurricanes, four to six of which could become major.

There have been only three tropical storms and no hurricanes so far, but August through October are typically the most active months of the season.
