I tried the search function, but I can only get it to search thread titles...

god this is gonna sound soo noob, even though I've been smoking for year and a half...

I have very little access to weed, so I'm usually very strict on how much I smoke, so as to make it last. On very rare occasions do I smoke as much as possible, and sometimes I get VERY high, but other times I feel like I've smoked myself down from my high.... wtf? does this *always* happen? is there really a too much? isn't it supposed to be that if you smoke too much you'll just "pass out", as in basically falling asleep cuz you're too stoned, and not that you feel like you are coming down? Does it have anything to do with quality of weed (usually get really good mids), age of weed, or smoking frequency?

any info? any way to avoid coming down? how do I know how far to go?

I'm planning a nice smoke-a-thon, and it would reeeeally suck ass if this happened.

Never heard of a quick come-down while still smoking. Damn, that would suck.

I usually just get so high I can barely hold the pipe and have to pass it back around.

I understand where your coming from man. But this is unusual. Usually the more you smoke, the more stoned you get. Is this not happening to you? Are you saying you get less stoned the more you smoke? My guess would be because you just dont smoke that frequently (or dont smoke *enough* frequently).

I'd suggest smoking more weed to overcome the comedown - since your just getting more stoned again if you do that. If this doesnt work because your just getting too tired when you get high, then I'd say try using another drug as a pickmeup, like an upper or something (caffeine, anything like that), then just continue blazing again.

I hope this helps. Peace man.

Every smoker has their limit, short or long. lets just say your limit is 10 bowls till you reach your limit, if you keep smoking after those 10 bowls and you already reached your limit you will just get more and more tired(and its not very good for your body) and when you just keep getting tired it may feel like your high is going away. so slow down on the 'lots of smokin' in one sitting k? good luck

I've been trying to remember when exactly this happens to me...

I am not a daily smoker, usually smoke once or twice a week, and I almost never smoke on two subsequent days, always trying to let at least on day pass before I smoke again.

Though when I "smoke myself sober", it usually happens when I've smoked the day before... this being when I smoke what I usually smoke or maybe even a bit more........
maybe it's a tolerance issue? so should I just keep on toking? push it farther and see if I get higher?

thanks for your comments, past or future

I don't think you are smoking yourself sober; I think after you are stoned for a certain period of time, you start to get used to it and don't notice it as much. Alot of people say that they smoke themselves sober, and this is always what I reply with. just a theory.

I think it's exactly what TopNotchStoner said. You are stoned, but your body and mind has become used to it. Maybe you just find yourself calm and in a situation that doesn't bring out your "stoned state". This happens to me as well :)

    Good advice for anyone.

but seriously, this is pretty weird. My first question would be how long are you smoking for? Are we talking like hours on end, to the point where you'd be naturally getting less stoned with time? Or is this like within a short period of time?

I've only "smoked myself sober" when I smoke for a few hours straight. I think its more that you get so high you don't notice anymore. But coming down after only smoking a little bit? Maybe you didn't get high in the first place? i don't know. Smoke more weed and better quality I guess? Good luck!

    smoking oneself sober.
this happens when the amount of THC you are taking in is very close to the amount already in your bloodstream. the most noticable affects of herb are that first coming on of the high, which you will no longer feel if youve smoked yourself sober. you dont feel them because your already stoned. this can happen on many different levels. on the more simple 'i smoked so much today that im not getting stoned,' or the more commom, 'i been puffin tuff every single day for weeks( months or most comonly, years) that herb dont do anything for me anymore.'
when the latter happens, kids tend to move on to the more destructive, shorter lived, drugs of synthetic or proccessed nature. when the former happens, you sleep real good and wake up happy.

I definitely think that this could be the case. Thinking back, when this has happened to me I was smoking in a place I've blazed in countless times before. This is comforting to know

also, I'm talking about smoking in a session of what, 15 min more or less, not hours at a time. :)

I guess all there is to do is blaze some more

btw, wish me luck on a possible connect I'm trying to obtain =D!!!
