why dont he put some of that money to work for peace? for disaters? disease? hunger? for fuel alternatives? for a better earth and a better humanity?

Because he's getting at the root of many of those things. For starters his done more for University of Washington than any person I can think of has done for any college in history. Educating our youth leads to better humanity and to the end of hunger.

Also, of his 100 something billion dollars he's stated that at the time of his demise he will give away somewhere around 80% of his assets.

 

He is the largest philanthropist in the world. His good will has inspired Warren Buffet to donate some 30 odd BILLION dollars to the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation.

Try doing an online search of Bill Gates and you will see that he has programs to help education, HIV patients, and libraries across the country.

Bill Gates does indeed give a ton of money away for good causes and who gives a fuck about his 'real' agenda, he's still helping people out that really need it and I don't see them whinging when his money makes their lives just that little bit more bearable.

good point. just like world vision, or christian childrens fund...what percentage of the money i give to wrold vision goes into buying bibles, crosses paying ministers, nuns ect ect to teach these poor children about a god who in my opinion doesnt exist? at least 20 percent off the top goe s to administrative costs.

 

how much of ANY money given to a charity actually makes it to the people who need it. I don't like Gates anymore than the next person but he should'nt be the only one singled out. Hell if I had that much money I probably wouldn't give ANY of it away to charity.
