Hello there, I'm into travel and I do it by bus! Babylon by bus! Trampin around the USA. I was stuck in an office job and I got bored, it was plastic, all the money grubbing phonies around. Don't get me wrong you gotta have money, but I just wasn't satisfied. I wanted to take off and see the country, see what lies on the other side of the hill. So I quit and I left from Jacksonville on hwy 10, hitched all the way to Tuscon. It was a hard hitch in AZ. so when I left Tuscon I took a bus. I was 40 then and I took that bus all the way to Santa Fe. I thought" this is great!" So I would work odd jobs ,stay in shelters and make bus fares and off I'd go! That was 10 years ago,I've criss crossed the country several times and never seem to get enough! I like the hippie trail, you know Ithaca ,Boulder and Santa Fe. And don't forget Taos. These days though I've slowed down a bit, I stay in Bellvue, I've got a bed and an air conditioner, two things your soul screams out for after months on a bus! How does that song go "you're tired of traveling you wanna settle down". I've almost got it out of my system,no more plastic environment and I've got to say I'm satisfied. And isn't that what it's all about, doing what you really want to do? For me it was travel. So for now I'm resting my bones. Take it easy. Bustramp
I'll say! I noticed that in the 90s. Seems like all the rides dried up. I thought maybe because I was getting older, but I think the times have changed that's all. Most drivers aren't rider friendly. I have to say I'm sorry to see the hitchiking culture disappear. It's one of the reasons I took a bus, I still wanted to travel. Bustramp
