Anyone else nerd-i-ly excited about ren faire season? My town is moderatly sized, so the one for around here happens this weekend. Just bummed I wasn't able to save money, again.
peaceband_chick, I assume it's just like the King Authur Festival held at Hammond Castle in Gloucester, Massachusetts Hotwater
Now this Hammond Castle, is it a real castle? Because that would be amazing to experience something like a ren faire, or a King Arthur Festival in an actual castle
The one around here isn't til September. I have never gone. Every year I say I'm gonna go and I never make it. (must not want to go that bad) But who knows, maybe I'll make it this year.
We don't have one around here...oh how depressing. I have the perfect dress and everything. In fact, I have two! Oh...how depressing.
I don't go much anymore-the last one I beat the shit out of one of The Knights in the games. They let people fight them with those silly rubber swords and sticks. So I beat him good and they got all pissy about it. I took fencing since I was 11 from a guy who taught actors how to fence. Walking around in costume all day and getting stoned in the woods is fun. The one in NY rocks. One of my sons is in it and travels with them all over.
http://www.faires.com/ This is one of my favorite links on this stuff. I'm going next week and have my costume already. We have a great one in New York in Sterling Forest. One of my sons is going to be Jousting.
i dont think there are any around here. i've never been to a ren faire, they look like a lot of fun though
I went to the Michigan Renaissance Festival on Saturday...the opening day. My bf had never been...and I had been three times to this particular one. We had a good time. There was a Captain Jack Sparrow look-a-like contest and my bf was in the final five LOL Anyway...I hope to go again before October when it's over...it's like stepping back in time!
