I protest Park Avenue marketing and "reality show" mentality.

I've been thinking lately about what's different now than it used be. What's lead to road rage and more "postal" incidents, and the whole world situation.

And I think it's come down to the mentality that if I can compete against you and rip you down than I am better than you.

What's lead to this is the competition mentality that advertisers have been selling us.

I am not better than you, and I value you, and I refuse to denograte you for my own benefit. That's my protest. Adverstisers find something new. I am tired of the hostility and anger you have fostered. And for whose benefit? I think if all contribute to life as equals the world could be a better place. Take your money and prizes and shove them as far as I am concerned, you can't pay me enough to run someone else down just to benefit myself or you.

i blame it on bad parenting ....it may sound weird but i saw a clip where these parents fought (with wepons) over a stupid football game with parents like that how do you think childre will turn out...........you do have a point but marketing cant mess up all by it self

I guess what I am say is there is a new mentality now that says if I can benefit by tearing you down and making myself look better than you than I am better than you.

I don't know how to spell it out simpler than that. And we are teaching our children that.

 

Will there be less wars and hostilities with this viewpoint, I don't think so.

 

Marketing is king right now, everyone wants to be the newest American Idol, Survior or Hell's Kitchen chef. And the only way you can do that is sabottage and degrade another person. Why have we let ourselves fall into this? Why isn't the biggest winner the one that helps others and leads a project to it's completion, but that's not the way these competitions work out. But the masses buy into it, why?

 

Totally agree Gardener. We are all slaves to advertising agencies in one way or another.

 

How about turning off your TV for a bit and getting out and talking to real people...if you actually believe shows like "Hell's Kitchen", "American Idol" & "Survivor" are the way it really is, then you are a fool.

Advertising exists to sell crap to the masses. Only you open your wallet.
