    yeah, we're sick....
I have mono and I hate it.
And now Leane's sick, too. The poor girl has a runny nose and can't sleep. I can't really tell if she has the other symptoms I have, but for the most part she's typicla leane just with more fussing.
When she does sleep, it isn't for more than a half hour at a time and then she wakes up screaming her head off. So I pick her up, sit her on my lap and pat her back, which puts her back to sleep so I can lay her back down beside me and we sleep for another few minutes.
Right now I have her inclined on a pillow, which is the only possible way for her to get any sleep right now. But it's still not helping much.
Does anyone have any tips to help her out?
I feel like I'm getting worse, since the only "cure" for mono is to sleep and rest and I'm not getting any at all.
Today I woke up and just moaned saying, "someone else can be mommy today, I need sleep."
I caved and gave her a little tylenol with some formula to get her to sleep last night, which worked for a couple hours. Then she woke up crying again.
I feel so bad for the little girl....it's so hard to hold her....I'm so stiff and achy, i can't even turn my head around and it's next to impossible to pick her up.
    I don't know what to do! :(
I really hope someone has some suggestions!

Oh, honey, I am so sorry you are so sick. It is OK to give her some Tylenol!!!! If she is crabby, sometimes it is due to pain, or coming down with something and the Tylenol or Motrin really helps. Give it to her if she needs it. If it helps her to sleep, that's OK!!!!

She is pretty young to get Mono (she may well still have a lot of maternal antibodies) but, if your man can maybe take her in to the Ped for a Mono Spot (test) that would be a good idea. I've never had Mono, but my parents had it when I was a kid, and they just slept and slept. I was older than Leane (obviously, I rememeber it) and I had the whole hosue to myself it seemed like, but I also had to make food, clean ect. It was rough. Of course, Leane won't have to do that. Can someone help you out until you feel better? You need the rest. Sleep with her next to you, have lots of baby toys and books in your bed. Do not feel bad for using Tylenol, or Motrin or even baby Videos or DVDs. You need to heal so you can continue to take care of her.

    Blessings on your healing.

    thanks for the relpies.
I think I'm going into the hosiptal later today. I woke up this morning and haven't been able to turn my head one inch to either side. And I can't hear anything. I'm also prone to phneomia (sp?), so I wanna get this double checked before anything worse happens.
No, there's no one here to help. Cody's been working 7 days/week, 9 hour shifts and comes home, eats and goes to bed. And my mom's home but still on vacation, so she's busy.
I'm also in the middle of packing to move on the 1st...so it's hard to slow down.
Plus, my birthday is tomorrow and our anniversary is on the 21st.....I really hate being sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Leane slept way better last night, and she woke up in a MUCH happier mood this morning. I think that she's feeling better now. Yesterday, her nose was flowing with mucous (sp?) and she was beyond grouchy, but I think that was the worst of it.
I, on the other hand, am in worse shape. like I said, I can't move, I can't hear hardly anything, I have no appetite, feel neasous.....ah, the list goes on.
But I have to wait until 8pm to go to the hospital, since cody's at work again.
I'm going to keep an eye on Leane. But most things seem to be better with her. She has a really hard time sitting still, and hates sitting in bed, so I don't think that would help. she hates TV....just generally gets bored REALLY easily. So I'm always on the go with her.
