but as with all sorts of music, theres plenty of dribble amongst it all.

if you like metal, i URGE you to listen to Helloween. they are definately awesome while stoned but i mean, youve got to like the music, and you cant really sit around and listen to metal and talk to ppl, its the stuff you put on when doing things or dancing or driving or whatever.

i'm a huge follower of metal. not too keen on helloween, although mrs. god aint too bad.
there are so many sub-genres of metal today that you really do need to specify WHAT kind of metal you're into. personally, devildriver/machine head/stone sour/slipknot/lamb of god/throwdown/bloodsimple/dry kill logic/the berzerker/fear factory/naildown/children of bodom/nile/american headcharge/roadrunner united/coal chamber and many many more do it for me. most of them are different sub-genres but they're all metal, my roots.
metal when high is only better for me - however - if im smoking too much strong stuff it can get a bit repetitive and i'd rather put some psytrance/trip-hop/rap/dance music on.

I really like Demons & Wizards and Blind Guardian, DragonForce, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Suidakra, HammerFall, shit like that. Good fantasy metal or power metal. Though addmitedly power metal isn't the only genre i listen to at all... this summer i've been more into reggae and punkish stuff and while i was away we listened to a lot of pop. kind of a wierd turnaround, but we still listen to metal plenty.

i'm listening to The Dark Ride atm. if your a power metal fan, check out falconer, crazy awesome band from sweden. they're old vocalist was heaps better though :[

Well, if you compare 80s stuff to what comes out in our current time or the 90s...then it's not that bad of music...But if I were around then, I'd be listening to my Jimi Hendrix/Led Zeppelin/Cream/Doors/Jefferson Airplane/Pink Floyd/Beatles/CSNY/Grateful Dead/Etc...Over the 80s stuff...

I'm more of a 60s and 70s person, hehe.

 

Yeah. You know what sucks? When we grow up there will be no good music..Not enough good music is being made, I think about this often, Im going to be listening to acient stuff when I grow up, you will likley be too.
