I'm looking for a beach town full of hippies, anywhere in the world...where is it? California is becoming too...expensive, trendy, overrun...any ideas?
Gisborne is pretty hip - a BIG surf scene, especially on some of the outlying beaches (about a 5 - 10 min drive from town). http://www.gisbornenz.co.nz/photos.htm It's a kind of small place, but warm, sunny and has a great relaxed pace. Oh and every New Years Eve the Rhythm and Vines gig comes to one of the local vineyards - it's about 24 hours of New Zealand's best dub and reggae bands, at least two stages, about 12,000 + people attending. It's so much fun. http://www.rhythmandvines.co.nz/ Also most seaside places in the Hawkes Bay are sunny, surfy and at least a little bit hippy. http://www.hawkes-bay.nz.com/ The Nelson region is great too - Nelson itself is goregous, if a tiny bit touristy but there are other places like Ruby Bay, Motueka, that have surf, sun and lots of hippies. http://www.nz.com/new-zealand/tourism/nelson/ Hope this helps a bit!
for someone allegedly from manchester you can't type english for shit. Also, nelson and wellington are pretty good for the old hippy type scene, drugs, music, sun, beaches, alternative views.
Are u fucinh nazi or racist? I see u like Nitezche, I can speak and write very well but u can't say anything in my language. Give me a time
LOL someone must have had a bad day. And Tamsyn... when was the last time Wellington had any decent sun??
teehee yes I'm up in welly for the weekend and Dunedin is warmer and sunnier at the moment. My vote is still the Nelson or Gisbourne areas for real hippy/sun vibes - welly has a bit of it but there are too many suits and politicians to really hippy it up
it was my gran's 90th birthday so we had a massive family reunion party thingamy. heading back in the morning
